Just back from a weekend stay with the new owners Mark and Alice and had a great time.
the owners could not do enough for us and the food and service was great too.
Great bar downstairs with all you need for a great night.
Rooms are of a high standard for the price and plenty to do within a short radius of the Inn if you have a car.
Will definitely stay again for a short break either with other couples again or with family.

Room Tip: pay the extra £10 for the larger room

Had dinner on Saturday night and were surprised by the large number of customers since it was the new owners' first week. The menu was varied with something to suit everyone and the food was delicious and well-presented. The service was attentive and friendly. Mark and Alice seem to have a winner on their hands and we look forward to many more enjoyable meals.

Lovely welcome and great food . Arrived by chance tired and hungry as our lunch at the Harbour Inn at loch Vennacher was cancelled due to flooding . Have only just realised that the new owners at Kippen were formely of aforementioned Inn. Thanks Mark and Alice you certainly know how to treat customers . Will certainly recommend . Attracted by the lovely Christmas menu posted on the website and by the very positive reviews, we booked for dinner just after Christmas. We were surprised to be seated in the pub area and not the dining area, but soon realized there just weren't enough people to warrant opening the dining area, even on a Friday evening. We were quite disappointed to discover that the lovely Christmas menu was no longer available and a very limited menu of fairly standard middle of the road fare, none of which very exciting, was all that was on offer. The wine list was limited and frankly mediocre, the food only ok. My salmon was appropriately prepared, served with asparagus also appropriately prepared (they're definitely not into local sourcing!) but all of it bathed in a tasteless cliche of hollandaise. Really too bad. My partner's beef casserole was hearty and tasty, but really just in the category of good pub grub, nothing more.

On the positive side, our server was friendly, attractive, and wanting to please, but didn't seem to be particularly well-informed about the menu on offer. The inn's interior had obviously been renovated and redecorated recently and was reasonably attractive, but to us felt rather "suburban", predictable and incongruous for such a lovely and historic old inn.

The Inn at Kippen is certainly ok and in some ways a good effort, but in our view, definitely not worth a special trip!

Just in from a Christmas dinner for a group of mostly ladies - couple of guys - at the Inn at Kippen and have to say what a wonderful meal it was. The very tasty food was hot, served on hot plates and the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. Definitely well worth a visit.
