Staff do not wear hair nets (a lot of the girls have very long hair) or hats, no aprons to cover their clothes, gloves are not worn when fresh rolls are being made up, one of the girls still had a T in the park wrist band on (1 month after the event!) I feel that the cafe really needs to address these problems.

We popped into the Allan water cafe as we needed a meal quickly. The fish and chips were fantastic - and reasonably priced. The batter on the fish was melt in the mouth perfection and the chips were crispy but fluffy.
The ice cream soda float was the icing on the cake.
Would highly recommend.

After giving a so - so review for the ice cream, we decided to revisit the Allanwater today and try the food for lunch. So glad we did.
Haddock and chips, breaded haddock and chips (lunchtime special small portions more than satisfying) and kids sausage and chips. All fresh and cooked beautifully. Fish was gorgeous, so fat and white and fresh as a daisy. Followed by hot choc fudge cake. Very impressed all round. We'll be back :)

Never disappointed with a visit here, the food is magnificent, especially the cod! The only place my husband will eat cod is from here! The ice cream is worth the trip alone. Fabulous
