“Great hotel to welcome in 2013”
Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

Here in the royal hotel bridge of Allan to celebrate new year!
Hotel staff especially Thomas have made our stay fantastic as per usual. Hogmanay ball was excellent with great food great band and great DJ.

Hotel is a small but very friendly hotel which is spotlessly clean. Nothing is a bother to Thomas or his staff and we would like to thank them all for having us and treating us with total respect the numerous times we have visited.

Would recommend the royal hotel to all and will return over the year of 2013 with my children and grandchildren.
Best wishes Brady Scotland.

I booked this hotel as my friends were getting married in it . When I arrived I was informed they had actually booked me into there sister hotel half a mile down the road as they didn't have room for us . I raised this complaint with the management who's reply was " nothing I can do about it " . Another friend staying in the hotel didn't get her room key until SEVENhours after arrival as they couldn't find her key . When they did her room had water leaking through the roof and beasties all over it . The best man's room had no bed in it and was also leaking . If you want to stay somewhere nice for whatever the occasion AVOID here at all cost

Your friends were married in The Ivy hotel, which has 11 ensuite bedrooms. With only a small number of bedrooms available, these rooms are offered to The Bride and Groom to allocate as they wish. Unfortunately, they had chosen other guests to stay in these rooms, with your room being allocated in the main hotel, 300 yards from the Ivy. This was explained by several staff members on the day of the wedding. I have had several complaints from my staff members on duty that day that they felt uncomfortable due to your overly aggresive nature towards them.

No member of staff in any industry should have to put up with this.

One room did indeed have a missing key, however this was solved during the afternoon and one room was missing a bed as it had been used previously to form a family room. The bed was moved back into the correct room and made up accordingly during the wedding service itself at 2pm. Room 7 did indeed have a small leak which had materialised after the four days of rain we had suffered in the Stirling area. I personally dealt with these guests.

On a final note, I urge you to think about posting further reviews on Trip Advisor, as although your visit to Bridge of Allan was for a freinds wedding, you have not mentionned a single comment to do with the wedding venue itself or indeed the main hotel where you had stayed. Reviews such as yours can be very misleading and damaging to a small private company like ours.

I have lovely memories of this hotel from many years ago and this visit did not change my opinion .

A super " old fashioned" Hotel which I would thoroughly recommend !

Friendly warm atmosphere , clean and comfortable throughout . Good food served in nice surroundings by staff who cared .

Will be back one day .

We got married here on November 30th and it could not have been a better day if we tried!! The staff here are absolutely amazing and cater to your every need. They will go out their way to make your special day perfect and they did this 100% for us. We also couldn't fault the manager, Thomas. He was terrific from start to finish and sorted everything to a very high standard. We had a slight problem the week before the wedding and he arranged everything for us and made sure it was fine on the day. The bridal suite was lovely, HUGE BED!! The wedding breakfast was excellent too, honestly, can't fault this place and will be raving about it for years to come. Oh!! And almost forgot, the chandeliers throughout the hotel are STUNNING!! Overall, beautful venue, fantastic staff, gorgeous food, amazing atmosphere...10/10!! We will be back :)

Had booked lunch with Santa on Sunday (8th) 4 adults & 4 kids.
The meal was lovely & service good & staff nice & friendly.
But no Santa in sight.
After lunch we went to his "Grotto" (a cupboard more like)
Sorry but the worst Santa i have ever seen.
The presents the children got were poor (£shop gifts) apart from the 9 month
baby who got a 85p dark selection box.
We all had a good time. But not what we expected or paid for.
Sorry Royal hotel as we traveled from Livingston t

we booked to stay at the ivy on the night a wet nov night i might add we arrived to find the hotel in darkness and locked luckily my husband knew the royal was the sister hotel so we went there to be told oh yes if its not fully booked and we have spare rooms we take the guests, great idea but it would make sense to let the guests know we had booked weeks in advance, maybe a phone call, e-mail. letter anything to let us know but no not even an apology . what were we supposed to do if we did not know the royal was the sister hotel. POOR POOR SHOW!!!!!!
