Stayed in this hotel after wedding! Super hotel and staff couldn't do enough to help everyone. Stayed in a family room with bunk beds - fantastic (according to the children!) Room spotless and decor was lovely. The room used for the wedding (garden suite) was fabulous as was the wedding meal and service. It was quickly transformed for the dancing to begin. Could not fault this hotel and would certainly recommend it if anyone is considering it for a wedding. PS Bridal suite was superb!! Well done Popinjay!

Groupon deal, great room, fantastic food, nice.
Bottle of wine £22.50 just a little pricey.apart from that I shall return as it was so relaxing and.the spa facilities were good also. Well worth the money.

Had stayed at the Popinjay about 8 years ago when I attended a wedding reception. Stayed for one night and I remembered the place being very nicely decorated and comfortable. At that time I stayed in a very spacious, family room that boasted a very large bathroom with shower. Stayed here again at the end of Feb for another wedding and have one word that describes this place currently and that is: WOW! I had traveled from the North East of England to stay for two nights for a family wedding. After a 3 hour drive - arriving about 9.30pm - we were keen to get settled in, fed and rested for the following day. Checked in and asked if we could still get food at that time, we were offered sandwiches but no hot food as the main kitchen had closed for the night. Didn't fancy that so we asked the bar manager where we could get a takeaway and he couldn't do any more to help us. He brought us a menu from the nearest takeaway and told us we could ask the receptionist to order for us and that we could eat it up in our room. The manager then brought us a drink while we waited in the bar and when the food came another member of staff brought us plates, cutlery and napkins. The Chinese food was lovely.
The real treat came when we got into our room, that's when we found the Wow factor. The hotel had been completely refurbished since the last time I'd been there and our double room was gorgeous. Lots of lush and lavish velvet and rich purples and browns and cream colours. A huge double bed with lots of pillows, flat screen TV, tea/coffee facilities and a front facing view. The walls were a very calming cream colour and complimented the richness of the bed linen and curtains. The carpet seemed almost brand new and was rich and fluffy under barefoot. We had an en-suite with a huge bath and shower and lots of lovely, little complimentary toiletries and big soft, white towels. The room cost £80 per night for the double, so we really felt that we were getting a good deal. The furnishings in the room were very tasteful and included a long, stand alone mirror. We were in room 1 so it was a little bit noisy with all the comings and goings as it was at the very top of the stairs that led to all of the other rooms on the floor but it wan't so noisy that it was a problem and we really heard nothing during the night - on the Friday or the Saturday - which was brilliant considering the entire hotel was full with wedding guests and other guests. The hotel is situated in the very picturesque Rosebank and the calm surroundings added to the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The garden is lovely and the function room that was used for the wedding meal was beautifully decorated and a great size for everyone to move around, especially for kids. Later in the evening the room was transformed into a disco for the night guests. We'd had a long day and decided to hit the hay around 11ish, but the music and the general bustle in the hotel didn't disturb us at all. Was a perfect place for a wedding and a perfect place for a nice, little couples get-away in a gorgeous area of Scotland.

Room Tip: Room 1 is at the top of the stairs that leads to the hall way to all the rooms, can be a little bit noisy but not if you're a heavy sleeper. Only affects you if you go to bed early.
