Just returned from an overnight murder mystery night. Fantastic from start to finish. The staff were great, nothing was a problem for them. The setting was only spoilt by the awful weather however this did not dampen the mood. The 4 course meal served during the murder mystery was beautiful. The actors that did the murder mystery event were great. Would definitely return and have no qualms in recommending this place to other

Murder mystery night. So much fun, felt included from start to finish. Four course meal was fabulous and staff couldnt be more helpful. Bedroom in the castle was big, clean and decorated beautifully. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had an excellent meal at Shieldhill last night. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the surroundings complemented by the friendly service.
Despite being relatively local this was the first time that we had visited Shieldhill but it certainly won't be the last.
Can imagine that this is a must visit around Christmas time.

I can't stress enough how helpful and friendly the staff are, it's like being part of a family while you're there. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome whilst still being professional and doing their jobs.

I was there 3 days for a wedding and I didn't find one fault the whole time. Such a beautiful place with beautiful views, the rooms are amazing, the food is great. I'm definitely going back, even if it means travelling all the way from Worcester like before!

My daughter and son-in-law have just had their wedding here - everyone was blown away by the whole experience. Stunning venue - impressive building and grounds, steeped in history and the interior furnishings and decor are authentic, comfortable and in excellent good quality taste, retaining the character of the place. The little chapel where the marriage ceremony was held was intimate and very beautiful. Accommodation, facilities , cleanliness and food were first rate and you felt as it was a home from home. Every single member of staff was courteous, down to earth, easy-going and friendly who seemed to genuinely care about their guests' experience and comfort. The staff were definitely the 'icing on the cake' - everyone from owner to bar staff to cleaners were approachable, warm, friendly and helpful. When little crises cropped up on the big day (bound to happen!) Mary the Proprietor took charge in a reassured and calm way sorting it out straight away eg father of the bride forgot his kilt socks (!) and a member of staff was immediately dispatched to a shop in Lanark to buy him another pair :-)

A perfect venue for a couple's wedding - giving them and their family and friends magical memories and giving the couple a beautiful, happy start to their lives together.

Highly recommended as a wedding venue!

Hi there went there on Saturday 19th April for a murder mystery weekend.lets begin first of all the first impression when you drive in ok.OMG when you walk in the door very friendly staff.could not do enough for you.they take you to the rooms.Iwas on the 2 floor(the man that showed me to my room could have took a bag I had 3.but he just walked in front with that big heavy door key. By the way not a complaint ).the room were amazing every room was different there were 4couples with us and every room was so different.I have paid a lot more money for rooms else where that's not been a patch on this place.bar area nice, when we stayed the weather was brilliant so there is seating outside.very nice the gardens and pond is lovely.the full hotel with all the small seating areas the lounge, the drawing room.I have to say the people that run the murder mystery were brilliant what a night we all had it was fantastic.I have to say its only a few places I have been to that I don't have anything bad to say.so if you are looking for a good place to go this is the place and if you don't enjoy yourself ( you are dead). And still if you don't enjoy yourself email me I will give you your money back that's how much I enjoyed myself.all the staff and the owners just keep what you doing and you will get what your are aiming for
