Received a one night dinner bed and breakfast stay as a gift for my fortieth birthday, supposed to receive champagne on arrival but still waiting! We were allocated the flodden double room in which there is barely enough room to walk along at the bottom of the bed. Shower room is adequate and very clean. We were asked by staff to keep the radiator on at setting number two which was fairly warm given the size of the room and the temperature outside, when we protested we were told that the heating for the rest of the hotel depended on that particular radiator being kept on and that we should open a Window. This we did, however the room is sutuated above the kitchen and we were treated to a symphony of either a heating or extraction system which set off evert twenty minutes, not a good recipe for any kind of sleep! On a positive note the food was reasonably good but food and drink were a bit over priced. The setting is lovely however would not visit again, too many negatives.
