Very nice and cozy place, great hosts, overwelming food.
We stayed there to ride the Dragon, perfect location for that, unfortunately the weather was very bad, but the support from our hosts was great!
Definetely recommended.

Louise and I are happy that you visited with us while you tamed the Dragon. We had hoped for better weather for the week-end, but it was not to be! We loved hearing your stories and distinct German view point of our country and the many adventures you have already enjoyed. If you ride this way again, we will pray that more sunshine comes during your stay at Sweet Berries.

My husband, Chihuahua and I stayed at Sweet Berries for 3 delightful evenings this past May. The Inn is beautiful and very homey. The views are gorgeous. And the food is devine! We have never stayed at another B&B so we cant really make comparisons but I have a feeling that most other B&Bs will fall short at matching the comfort level and food. It is obvious that Louise and Darrell try to anticipate every possible need and want their guests might have. There are so many small touches that show they truly delight in making their guests have the best possible B&B experience.

I have to give a special shout out to the linens, the towels especially were so luxurious. An example of those special touches...I would have actually been uncomfortable using the wash cloth to wash the makeup off my face, they were that nice. Except individually wrapped make up removing clothes were included in the toiletries in the bath room. Seriously, what kind of hosting genius thinks of that? I tend to think I am an above average hostess, I never would have thought of that. Makes the guest more comfortable and allows for a nicer quality of linens to be available with less liability for the facility. Genius!

We stayed here because we were participating in MINIs on the Dragon. Most places on the NC side of the Dragon were booked so we had to branch out a little further than we normally would have. For anyone participating in activities at Fontana Village, Sweet Berries is about 50 minutes away if you drive at a moderate to brisk pace. It was only about 15 minutes longer of a trip than for those staying in Robbinsville (granted in a different direction) but worlds better accommodations. For an event like MOTD, the best place to stay is probably Fontana due to the location since that is where every activity either takes place or originates but if you cant get a spot inside the village, I would highly recommend Sweet Berries over other locations available.

Hello again, it is good to hear that you had such an amazing time while you stayed with us at Sweet Berries. I would have to give Louise full credit for making sure the ladies are taken care of and all the details are covered. We are always looking for suggestions to improve your comfort and well being while staying with us. Let us know if you come this way again, and we can share more good conversation over a cup of coffee or tea.
PS loved the eyelashes on your MINI,
Darrell Johnson

We just spent a wonderful evening and morning with the owners of Sweetberries B&B. We were greeted with such warmth and graciousness. The home and grounds are very, very beautiful. Their B&B compares to a 5 Star resort. The evening snack (out of this world carrot cake) knocks your socks off...and the 3 course breakfast is unbelievable...again, right up there with the very best. We sincerely hope that we can return sooner, rather than later. If we had it to do over we would have stayed longer! WOW!

Louise and Darrell are the consummate hosts in a pristine setting at the west end of the Dragon in the foothills of the beautiful Smokey Mountains. They went above and beyond the call of duty to both make us feel welcome and help us celebrate our anniversary. In the early evening, there was a power outage from the storm, and all of the guests gathered around the candle-lit dining room table to eat scrumptious carrot cake that Louise had made, and it was like a gathering of friends that you had known for a long time. We all stayed at that table for 2.5 hours (long after the power came back on)! The facilities were clean, inviting and cozy, with amenities that you would never expect. Louise is a terrific cook and you certainly won't leave the table hungry! They are special people with a special calling, and we will plan to go back!

My wife and I chose Sweetberries B&B while looking through a list of places to stay in the Smokies. We wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet while on vacation and be close to The Dragon. Quiet frankly, Sweetberries far exceeded our expectations. From the time we stepped in the front door until the day we left, it was like being home. You will not find more gracious hosts than Darrell and Louise. They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It's late April, and we stayed from Sunday to Wednesday and had the entire upstairs to our selves.

As for the B&B, it is simply spectacular. Darrell and Louise have added their warm touches to each room. No matter the room you chose, you will not be disappointed. Beautifully furnished, nicely appointed and immaculate. Everything has the scent of berries. You really long for nothing during your stay.

The highlight (aside from the accomodations) is breakfast and the evening snack. It's not served - it's presented. We actually had to take a picture of the serviing on our final morning to show friends. We had food that you would be hard pressed to find in the best hotels and restaurants (and we have been in some of the best). Louise, in addition to being a lovely person and gracious host, is an amazing cook.

If your plans call for spending time in the greater Maryville/Knoxville/Pigeon Forge area, you will do yourself a big disfavor if you do not consider staying at Sweetberries. It's a little out of the way, but I guarantee you that it will be a very memorable stay. And for the motorcyclists (like us), it's a hop, skip and a jump to the Dragon. The best of all worlds.

We will return without hesitation.

Room Tip: There is the room we stayed in that had a private deck. However, all four roooms are fantastic!

Thank you George, and Rick, and Chuck, and Cindy, you were all so wonderful to have stayed with Louise and I at Sweet Berries. I know Jimmie and Sarah enjoyed meeting you and sharing a little of their life in Tennessee with you. Well, if the tail of the dragon didn't get you heart pumping, I know the beauty of Cades Cove gave you a thrill. I hope the next time you vacation here that we get to ride our Harleys out together. Give our best to Cindy and the family. Louise sends her best!
Happy Trails, Darrell
