Drove to Turnberry from Manchester. It is a bit tricky on narrow poorly maintained B-roads (I get car sick) but once you get there it is magic. The hotel is stuning to look at and to look out from. Valet parking once you arrive, make sure you get the room with the lighhouse view. The proximity to the ocean makes weather very changeable, but this also means that it is sunny most times (a plus in scotland).
Not into golf but everybody else there is mad about it.
Ate the best steak tartare of my life! Cocktail menu not exciting, but plenty of other drinks around.
The pool is impossibly small at peak hours but worth a visit.More
