I have given this hotel a very good because it could not really be faulted...great service...excellent food and the rooms were spotless...The elephant in the room is that the ground floor is a residential home for the elderly which is challenging although there is no impact on the hotel residents but it does make you question yourself if you want to live under the safe roof as the elderly. The food was great in the restaurant and the fish and chips was the best I've had anywhere and I've had my share of fish and chips...The rooms are a little dated compared to modern living standards but could not fault the cleanliness and this is one of the few hotels who clean their bathrooms properly i.e no mould of black marks around the bath/tile area...The corridor was a little noisy outside the door and I had to jam a piece of paper in the door to stop it rattling when other guests walked past which was a bit annoying in the early hours..

Room Tip: try and get a sea view.

What a lovely surprise to roll up here and find this attractive virtually single storied building with pretty gardens, lovely views over the gold course...a very welcome sight.
The receptionist was very pleasant as were all the staff, all of whom passed the time of day when you saw them. It has a very informal feel about the place and a calmness that I just cannot put my finger on as to why it should be, quite unique.
Half of the building is given over to a Care Home and I understand the Hotel came about originally to assist visitors to residents.
The rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated with big picture windows. The dining room is elegant and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast there, although there seemed to be very few other guests so it was even more peaceful.
One of our party is disabled so the addition of a Stanna lift to the first floor was a godsend.
The place would not suit anyone looking for cutting edge modern, style icon, but we found the place really nice and totally charming. Would definitely be happy to stay there again, great value too, particularly when compared with the prices of some places we stayed that were not nearly as nice.

Room Tip: We had "golf course" view rooms, which were really nice. I do not know what the seaview r...

Stayed 2 nights to travel up to Commonwealth Games. Lovely quiet hotel. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Breakfast good. Yes, it's also a care home but it doesn't impact on your stay at all. Stayed with our 9 & 10 yr olds. Room very clean and a good size. Modern fixtures & fittings. Complimentary bottled water, shortbread & tea/hot chocolate making kettle. Lovely clean spacious bathroom with quality complimentary products. Fluffy white dressing gowns too!. Only downside was the electric shower had no power. If we had been there another night I'd have had to wash my hair and there's no way the shower would've rinsed it.
Quiet location, nice and peaceful. 15 mns drive into Ayr.

It certainly is strange sharing a hotel with a nursing home but that impinges little on your hotel experience. However it is a very quiet genteel establishment. Our room upstairs was comfortable with quality bathroom products, dressing gown, iron and ironing board, trouser press everything was very clean. The staff were all very friendly and obliging. A typical Scottish breakfast is provided. And was very good. All is served to you not the normal buffet. Cloth tablecloths, tea pots, toast racks , fresh flowers etc made for a classic experience.

When we arrived we were a bit taken aback it is also a care home, however this didnt impact on our stay at all. It isnt suitable for children or young ones after a drinking time away. We had room 8 which was huge with a view over the golf course and the sea. Reception staff were exceptional and couldnt have been more welcoming!! We stayed with our Boarder Terrier and every staff member we came across fussed him. The evening meal was outstanding however we were too full to have dessert. Its a 2 minute walk to the sea and harbour so location brilliant. The only downside was the 'dog bin' was far away when walking the dog at 5am, however i understand they dont want it right next to the hotel, but at least a path too it instead of wet grass would be a plus! We will definately stay here again and would reccomend it to everyone!!

My family have been coming to Malin Court, mostly to dine, but also to stay, although we hadn't been for a long while, dad invited us to come and stay here for his birthday treat.

More suited for adults than young families, the rooms are very comfortable and have lovely views out over the harbour at Maidens or the golf course at Turnberry. There is also a lift up to the rooms on the first floor which is very handy and of course they are pet-friendly too.

Dad had come down the day before and we met for a light lunch. The menu was excellent and the food well-prepared and well-presented and tasted as good as it looked. The dinner menu was a variation on the lunch menu with extra choices, equally as delicious. This is quality dining in excellent surroundings and service to match. Replete from dinner we adjourned to the lounge for coffees and liqueurs - before retiring for the night having had a wonderful evening.

After a good night's sleep we had a good breakfast. Smoked haddock with poached egg - the perfect Scots breakfast. Breakfast service was a wee bit slow as they only had one waitress on, but nothing was too much trouble and we weren't in any hurry anyhow.

Dad thoroughly enjoyed his birthday and with a midweek dinner B&B deal this was excellent value for money - not that you can put a price on an 83 yr old's happiness.

My wife and I took a drive to this hotel for afternoon coffee
They were busy clearing up after functions and we had to wait for service in one of their lounges.
When a staff member realised we. Had had to wait he immediately found us a place, and brought us two lattes with lovely almond biscuits, which he said were on the house to make up for our wait
The lattes were perfect, and the biscuits lovely.
We then started talking to a really interesting couple from Limerick which made it an interesting afternoon
