A surprise gift from our son,we were delighted with our warm greeting and super room.We were in the Bay Room which as well as having a lovely view was light, roomy, warm and spotlessly clean.A pleasant restaurant with good food and friendly, helpful, interested staff added to our enjoyment.Gillian and Michael were always about with a wealth of local knowledge and advice on things to see and do. Also the livery facilities looked very good,if I still had a horse I would love to take him on holiday here.

We were pleasantly surprised when we decided to stay at this hotel. Newly opened, the room was pristine and modern, we loved the unique layout and fantastic view! The attached farmstore was charming and the restaurant was great. The family that run this hotel are very helpful, friendly and accomodating! We would recommend Woodlands to anyone.

Hotel, staff and restaurant were a great start to our Scottish West coast , "get away from it all" trip. Rooms were lovely and a good size ,it was spotless ,tasteful and very comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the restaurant was a great surprise, all good locally sourced food (had no license when we were there but you could take your own wine ) And what a bargain ,opposite the coast for a good walk after dinner . Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and had such a chilled time. The room faced the sea, which was over a busy main road but soon overlooked that as views over beach were fantastic!
Room lovely and clean, very spacious. Absolutely quiet in the evenings which was just what we needed to ensure a great nights sleep.
We were on a package deal with included breakfast and dinner and so glad as the food was delicious. I rarely eat 3 courses but tried my best and glad I did!
It's a family-run business and has a real feel-good atmosphere.
Will definitely be back!

We stayed at the hotel only 3 weeks after it opened to meet demand for the British Open Golf. We had the Mezzanine suite and found this very well appointed . It was part of the hotel's charm that the restaurant was situated across a courtyard which felt part of a working
farm with horses, livestock and a very interesting garden centre and farm shop. Well done the Forbes family..
