It’s always a good sign when you wish you had been able to stay for more than one night at a hotel! Glenapp Castle was an absolute delight. This property is beautifully renovated and furnished, the extensive grounds are incredible and the owners manage it in the best kind of hands-on way, with every staff member playing their role to create a special, intimate and elegant experience. The moment you drive up, staff are waiting to whisk you to your lovely room. They seem to anticipate your every wish. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented, with a special consideration for dietary requirements (asked ahead of time). Graham and Fay Cowan are clearly training a next generation of exceptional hoteliers and keep an eye on every detail. We will definitely return and will recommend Glenapp to anyone who will listen. It’s worth a detour just for the gracious experience of being coddled by the Glennapp team. This is the way you run a five star hotel!

Stayed for 2 heavenly nights at this fabulous hotel. The weather wasn't the best but that meant more time spent in this fantastic hotel which likes you to treat it as home. There is no formal reception desk, the staff know you're arriving via the elctric front gate and are waiting on the drive to greet you. We came with friends and had two rooms which interconnected via our own sitting room, perfect for pre dinner drinks. Dinner on both nights consisted of some of the best food I've ever eaten. Chef Adam Stokes is a genius and will probably be head hunted to somewhere exclusive in London or maybe Paris. They don't have an a la carte menu, they simply ask you for any food allergies or dislikes and design a menu around you. The six course menu is innovotive and light so not too much, you would have thought after six courses you would need to be rolled out of the dining room, but not so. The staff were happy to arrange for our cheese course to be served in our sitting room a little later, to make digestion easier! We visited the nearby Spa which was a welcome treat while the men played some golf at the famous Turnberry
Club. The staff here are among the best I've encountered, with special mention to owner Fay, Manager John and assistant Natasha for their impeccable service.

WOW! That is what we both said when we pulled up to the gates of Glenapp Castle following our Scottish Castle Wedding
Our Suite was almost as big as our house. The staff were extremely attentive and the dinners in the evening were amazing.
Certainly a stay to remember - Recommended for a special occasion.

A stay at Glenapp leaves you feeling all is well in the world. From the moment you buzz at the gates you are transported from whatever your "normality" is into a fairy tale world where you are the centre of all that is taking place.
The castle and the grounds are stunning but what makes this place truly special are the owners and the staff.
The food is simply divine. Each time I stay I think the food will never be bettered only to have to revise my opinion on subsequent stays...to date I have never had a better meal than at Glenapp.
This is not the cheapest stay you will ever have but I always feel on departing that I have had value for money.
Wonderful as always

Having decided upon a Scottish castle as a surprise to celebrate my wife’s ‘special’ birthday, I researched many and Glenapp topped the list. So I arrived with high expectations – which were met in every single way. The whole experience was wonderful, for all the reasons listed by other reviewers, and my wife loved it.
The owners obviously had a vision of what they wanted to create when they bought the run down castle - in the fabric of the building and the whole experience. This is lived by every member of staff, even in their absence. It’s plush but not at all stuffy.
We had the joy of being the only people staying on our 1st night (a Monday in March) and the staff got it just right. It also meant we were able to have a tour of all the bedrooms – they vary a lot in size, style, views, etc so choose wisely and I would recommend going for the best you can afford. Also make sure you explore the grounds and the walk beside the stream that runs alongside - beautiful.
The one small fault was the cream tea (scones poor), so if you have afternoon tea go for the homemade biscuits instead.
Relax and enjoy.
