Closed electric gates welcome you. Probably cameras too. Voices announce to proceed.
Despite this rather unwelcoming welcome, we've always had a pleasant welcome at the door. The hotel itself is of course beautiful as are the furnishings. A wonderful renovation.
Our visit was to eat, not to stay and as expected the food was superb. The menu was marvellous. Well done to the Chef getting his Michelin Star – well deserved.
However, some of the the chatty, smiling, professional staff seem to have changed from a year ago – and therein lies the slight problem. All staff are not local and whether local or not, a smile never goes amiss.
Very nice people who own the hotel but the latent formality still lingers - and it starts with that slight feeling of unease with those closed gates!More
