I went to Loch Green's christmas coach tour which involved a tour of properties, visit to christmas market at Souter Johnnie's and back to Loch green for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. Lunch was lovely. It was a set menu and initially i wasn't looking forward to the vegetable soup as I thought it would be a bit boring but it was very tasty, main course huge portion and lovely! Dessert really yummy. Only problem was when the desserts came out some weren't as advertised (they'd had a batch of choc dessert which hadn't turned out properly). We got the replacement dessert which was better than the one on the menu!! this was great for us but led to complaints from others around us who had got the advertised dessert and would have preferred our's - thought it was ridiculous thing to moan about considering they got what was on the menu. i felt sorry for the staff who were getting moaned at!! the staff then got replacement desserts for some of the moaners - cheese boards, lemon tarts etc. Staff went beyond the call of duty here as the moaners had been happy to have what was on the menu when they signed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just spent a couple of days at this fabulous hotel on a business conference.
In a world full of souless business hotels the Lochgreen manages to deliver first class conferencing facilities amidst a first class location next to the sea surrounded by golf courses.
The rooms are huge the beds are first class the bathrooms are larger than most hotel bedrooms with fabulous roll top baths and monsoon showrs cubicles,
Their is a vibe about the place that oozes tranquility.
The restaurant offers a superb menu. We had dinner bed and breakfast over two days and the food was plentiful and tasty. Their secret weapon is the staff who are without exception caring, courteous and friendly. They add to the charm and the ambience of the place. If you find yourself heading towards south west Scotland then do yourself a favour and experience this wonderful hotel.

We just stayed three nights at this extremely comfortable and elegant hotel, just beside the Royal Troon Golf Club.
Everything was excellent. The rooms were huge and beautifully appointed, lots of wardrobes, great bathroom with old fashioned tub and walk in shower.
The reception rooms were wonderfully comfortable, with wood fire and spacious lounge chairs and setees.
The formal dining room was bright and ornate with excellent modern cuisine, the Beef and cabbage with creamed potatoes was excellent. Breakfast was nicely done with Full Scottish and Smoked Haddock among other choices.
The grounds were beautifully manicured and views of the sea were plentiful.
All in all a great spot.

We ended up at Lochgreen because of a mix up with our booking at the Marine hotel, on arrival the hotel is an impressive sight with lovely well tended gardens, we were given a room in the Spa building in the courtyard which was a very large with a very large bathroom and was vey comfortable. We didn't have dinner at the hotel because we don't like the idea of the set price multiple course menu however breakfast was first class. It is difficult to comment to much given we arrived at about 4pm and checked out at 10am the next day to return to the Marine but nothing we encountered made us feel as if we wanted to return, it all felt a little stuffy and felt like they where doing us a favour letting us stay.
