Myself and husband were attending a wedding at the Piersland Hotel, Troon. The hotel never had rooms left, so we had a look round for something close by that didn't cost the earth....we were almost ready to book the Premier Inn at Monkton Lodge as it was the looking like the only place available, having tried the bigger hotels. How glad am I that I had a quick look on Trip Advisor for B&B's in the area - and stumbled across No 2 Troon Road and at more or less the same price as the Premier Inn (who never had breakfast in the rate), there was no contest as to where we wanted to stay for the night.

The B&B was perfect. Easy to find just off the main road. Warm and friendly welcome and a lovely big room for us to rest our heads for the night. Douglas helped with recommendations of a quick dinner (in the form of a local - YUMMY - chippy) and from there we headed off to the wedding.

Our bed was lovely and cosy, the shower was good and the breakfast even better. As someone has said before, I don't think they could improve on anything - and if I even need to visit Troon over night again, I'll be sure to look up No 2 Troon Road.

Well done and keep up the good work!

Mr & Mrs Graeme Stewart :)

Stayed for two months as part of a job relocation. Hosts couldn't be more welcoming, breakfast was excellent, rooms spotless (and teddy bear friendly).
I was on foot and there are good bus and rail links to all locations.
Troon itself has all you could want with excellent dining venues in the evening ranging from fish suppers to full evening meals.

My husband and I have friends in Dundonald and we have stayed at No 2 Troon Rd with Douglas about 4 times in the past 5 years or so. The welcome is always friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. Douglas is happy to help getting the bags to the rooms upstairs which makes a good start the the stay and he explains how everything in the room works so you can settle in quickly. Breakfast is always very good. This may not be the cheapest B&B in the area but it must be the most comfortable. We will be back if we visit Scotland again.

Room Tip: We have stayed in most of the rooms over time. They are all of the same high standard so the only difference really is the view. One has a bit of a view over the town and the island of Arran while the others look out to semi rural areas over the road.

A warm welcome to a lovely room with too many special touches to count! Excellent breakfast made to order. I can't imagine how they could improve. And the location is within walking distance to a rather decent restaurant. The host was incredibly helpful as we sorted out our plans for the area. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: We booked two - they're all good!!
