As per previous reviews the room was very spacious with a double & single bed, comfy leather sofa, massive built-in wardrobe and sea view. Beds very very comfy but room defo needed a paint job, in general the room was clean although the shelving area inside the wardrobe had long since seen a duster, you wouldn't be able to use the shelves unless you were prepared to clean them yourself!! In the bathroom there was no tumbler at the sink, nowhere to put your toiletries (shelf/unit) and the shower curtain was covered in black spots which put us off using the shower. There were no bulbs in either of the wall lights above the beds so had to get out of bed to swicth the main lights off. Also, you could not close the door securely without locking it with the key. All in all these are perhaps minor complaints but I'm glad we also booked this hotel on a Groupon voucher, would not have been happy at all if we had paid full price,

The breakfast was acceptable although not great but the meal served in the bar on the first evening was excellent - 10 out of 10!! The staff was lovely, helpful and friendly all over the hotel

When we left on the Saturday there was no-one at reception - in fact, it was all closed up - so we were not able to advise the staff of the minor complaints mentioned above

Room Tip: Great views from the front rooms

bought my parents a glasgows great deal voucher for xmas but due to ill health they were unable to use it for the expiry date got in touch with hotel the furthest i got was the receptionist i was refused any contact with manager. Absolutely refused to extend voucher their reason being that other requests had been turned down good way to run a business take peoples money but refuse to budge i even asked if i could have 1 night instead of the 2 that were paid for again refused. It appears that this hotel has a couldnt care attitude no wonder is it is the least popular hotel in troo

This is a warm and very welcoming establishment. Friendly attentive staff, lovely food and reasonable prices. It's advisable to book a table at the weekend as it get,s busy. If it'a nice day then a wee walk down the Marina is nice way to blow away the cobwebs and or Hangover.
Worth a visit.

We paid £39 on a Groupon deal for 2 nights (dinner 1 night and B&B) We also had a complimentary bottle of wine due to a misunderstanding with our original booking. The double room with bathroom and shower was very spacious with a sea view. The room was a bit tired - but then so were we - and it was clean and comfortable enough for a restful time.

Breakfast was well-organised - part buffet and cooked 'fry-up' and the staff were pleasant, friendly and very efficient.

The pub attached was a very popular place with people for both drinks and meals and we couldn't fault our dinner.

It was a lovely short walk into Troon along the seafront.

Highly recommended especially if you are lucky enough to get the deal!

Room Tip: Room 4 is the 1!

my good lady and i recently spent a night in this hotel, on arrival we were shown our rather small if cozy enough room, our stay was uneventful and mostly pleasant but i am afraid the food was very bland and uninviting, both of us opted for different chicken dishes that were either tepid or tough enough for my good lady to require using the steak knife to get through the aforementioned fowl, cant say we will be booking a return trip to the anchorage

I booked a Groupon deal for the Anchorage for myself, my husband and another couple. On reading the review's we were a bit apprehensive about going.

Our friends arrived first and they had a room looking out to the back, there were also signs of water ingress in their room, a coat of paint wouldn't go amiss! Our room was to the front of the hotel with a lovely view over toward the marina. Both rooms were spacious, however they were tired but clean and the beds were very comfy. The shower in our room was new and powerful. A new shower curtain wouldn't go wrong. Overall the rooms could be doing with a bit of TLC. For all the time you spend in your room tho...

We did wait to check in but we weren't in any hurry so this didn't bother me to much, the friendliness of the staff made up for the wait. The hairdryer in my room didn't work but they got me another one as soon as I asked.

The big plus for this place is the bar. It's a quirky place, friendly and the food is fabulous. We stayed two nights with breakfast (which was also lovely) and one night with dinner. Just dinner alone would set you back what it cost for the two night stay!! We did wait a bit for dinner to be served but the real chips were worth the wait. Everything is cooked fresh and even Tam Cowan gave it 23/25 for the food.

On the Sunday I asked the big question, would we go back?? We would be quite happy to grab another Groupon deal for this hotel, I wouldn't be so keen to pay full price unless it had a revamp.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room.
