Just spent 2 nights at the Sandhill. What magic. Our view was of horses grazing on a hill overlooking Troon Golf course and the Irish Sea. Whatever your reason for being Around Troon, a stay at the Sandhill will make it all ideal.
Our suite of romms were huge, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was like going to your best friend and having them wait on you. We were treated like royalty.
This home is old and full history, but modren in all things one needs.

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting Troon for a wine tasting at Lochgreen Hotel. On approach the house is very impressive from the outside and is set in beautiful gardens with horses, geese and not forgetting Honey (I think that was it's name!) the dog.

Stayed in the Butterwick Suite, overlooking the golf course, which was stylish and contemporary but which maintained many original characteristics. Extremely spacious and comfortable with many extra little touches which made it special.

Breakfast was cooked to order and would put the usual buffet style of most hotels to shame. There was also a comfortable lounge area available. Offered excellent value for money also and very friendly owner and staff.

The only disadvantages was that it was rather difficult to find and there was some noise from the nearby railway line and aircraft noise from Prestwick Airport but this didn't really bother us at all.

Hope to return in the future - a great find!

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Sandhill House. Elaine our hostess (ably assisted by Zac) went out of her way to ensure that we wanted for nothing. The house is beautiful, set in a lovely location. There were 10 of us in our party and we all throughly appreciated the delights that Sandhill has to offer. I feel mean that I haven't given Sandhill a 5 star rating but being objective some of the rooms don't have en suite facilities, and aircraft noise might put some people off, although it didn't bother us. That said Elaine is the hostess with the mostess and we hope to return to Sandhill again very soon.

Took us awhile to find this place as its not signed from the main road, but when we did it was well worth it! The house is amazing, and the landlady couldn’t have been nicer to us. Would recommend and would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at Sandhill House for 2 nights and we left on Monday morning trying to sort out when we could come back and stay again. The house is beautiful and the suite of rooms we stayed in would put most hotels to shame. Elaine made us very welcome and the breakfast in the mornings is an absolute feast. The local taxi drivers all talk about Sandhill House and tell you that you've made a real find staying there. We've been told that the grounds are even more spectacular in summer so I guess that will help us decide when to come back again.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Sandhill in July this year for one night as we were attending a wedding in Troon. From the moment we arrived in the grounds we were speachless. The place is gorgeous and the welcome we received was really friendly.

I cant say much else other than if you are thinking of going, please do so as you wont be dissapointed.

We will be going back and hopefully next time for longer than just one night.

We stayed in the huge Donovan Suite (2 rooms and a bathroom) : clean, really comfortable and nice decoration and furnitures.

The Sandhill house has a lovely situation : sea view, garden, horses, ... Good choice (and quality) for breakfast.

Very good (and natural) welcome from Elaine.
