The hotels is in a beautiful location right across from the beach front. We went mainly to use the leisure facilities and were slighlty disappointed with the lack of space in the changing facilites, the showers looked slightly grubby and also there was no shampoo/conditioner in the showers which I would expect in a 4 star hotel. Apart from that the food was exceptional, the location and staff were excellent.

We have just returned from one night stay.

Due to reading about small rooms we decided to upgrade to a deluxe room. What a bonus that was, huge lounge area and bed with a kettle and television.

We made use of the leisure facilities which, were spot on. Had a lovely swim, sauna and steam room prior to our three course dinner. Dinner was excellent, three courses of fine food.

We purchased a great deal at this hotel through itison.co.uk and allowed us dinner, bed and breakfast for £99 and it was worth every penny.

All in all a fantastic stay in a lovely hotel.
Staff were very friendly and the whole place was spotless.

Hope you all enjoy your stay, we sure did.

:-)

We've been coming to this hotel for a number of years now and we've never been disappointed. The rooms, food and service are always very good. The staff are always happy to help with anything and make you feel welcome.

Came here on a DBB voucher, this was our second visit to the hotel and it was excellent again. Our room was a lot smaller but still very nice. Dinner was excellent, we ate in the conservatory part of the restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere. If I had to find fault it would be with the bathrooms, shower curtains should be replaced with screens as curtains are looking a bit tatty.
We'll definitely be back to this excellent hotel.

Had a good value weekend after a two night DBB break via www.classicbritain.com. Staff very friendly although late Dinner Booking on 1st night, arrived at 4pm, booking only 6.30 or 8.30pm. 2nd Night booked 8pm.
Breakfast busy and all staff attentive.
Bit drizzly weather but managed a stroll to Troon, 20mins and then a drive to Burns Experience at Alloway then off to test the 'Electric Brae'
Leisure Centre good although steam room not working properly.
Prices for wine and drinks similar to other Hotels
Nice touch of ordered newspapers in bag on hook of door.
Also a very clean Hotel and smiling staff.

Room Tip: We had third floor room, small and adequate with good bathroom and seaview.

We have visited the Marine for many years but no more. We had one visit in Dec 2012 and another in Jan 2013. I both cases, very poor rooms offered - singles pretending to be doubles. Food in the restaurant lacked any skills (on both occasions) although breakfast was good. I am afraid that this hotel is slipping badly (quite understandably, occupancy seems low). We are tiring of the 'we will make sure you have a better time next visit' excuse - it's wearing thin. This hotel used to be listed as #1 in Troon, it's now #3. That sums it up. Some of the prices that they are asking are crazy. Needs a management change and a decent chef.

Room Tip: Best rooms are at the front and side. Avoid most at the rear, especially over kitchen area.

I'd read a few negative reviews on this hotel and nearly didn't book it. In the end we got a great deal and decided to make up our own minds. So glad we did...the hotel is in a lovely location, friendly staff and our room was great and nice and quiet at the back of the hotel. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant on our first night and the Arran bar is a great place to relax with comfy seats that you never want to leave. I only had one slight negative that was breakfast on the first day - no gluten free bread and all i could eat from the cooked breakfast was bacon and tomato which was the tiniest portion ever. Left hungry but this improved the next day. Otherwise plenty of choice at breakfast for non coeliacs. On the whole, enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
