The Wee Hurrie is located by Troon Harbour and you may think you are lost until you notice the signs. Just as well as you would not want to leave Troon without sampling the delights of perfect fish and chips from this fantastic chippy!

I ordered Haddock and chips, which were cooked to order and so very tasty. The batter on the fish was golden and light and the chips golden and cooked perfectly. A tub of tartare sauce and lemon wedge complements the supper perfectly.

The staff are super efficient and friendly and can clearly deal with the queues which must form at this establishment, during summer months.

I will most definitely be hurrying back to this chippy, which is a little gem and another reason to visit Ayrshire, apart from the stunning countryside and harbour areas.

I've wanted to come here for a long time and it did not disappoint. My partner wanted to see how the fabled Wee Hurrie compared to his favourite fish and chip shop in St Andrews and declared that the Troon shop won hands down. It is situated at the end of the harbour on Troon, so isn't at all central. It was well worth the wee bit of extra money the good cosy and trying to find the shop.
My partner had two lovely pieces of haddock in light, fluffy batter and I opted for scampi (the real stuff, no imitations). These were cooked freshly for us and served with perfect chips - crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle - and each container had a slice of lemon and a tub of tartare sauce in it!
I'll be back at the Wee Hurrie next time I'm in Ayrshire.

No trip to the seaside is complete without trying the fish and chips. We had been to the Wee Hurrie before so this was a return visit. We didn't have long to wait but as everything is cooked fresh there may be a delay but it will be worth it. It is expensive compared to other fish and chip shops but its worth it for the perfectly cooked haddock in a light crispy batter. The chips were also excellent. What other 'chippy' serves your fish and chips with a slice of lemon and a tub of tartare sauce. It was the perfect end to a lovely day eating our takeaway at the front with a view out to Arran.

Have been here on several occasions and its always been great so decided instead of going somewhere for a sit in meal on Mothers Day we would go along here.

Ordered Chicken Yakatori supper, Squid Tempura supper and two Haddocks...... had to wait a while as everything is cooked to order but this is not an issue at all as you know it is all fresh.

The food was gorgeous - everything cooked to perfection and the haddock so so thick and pure white and was just falling apart.

I would recommend this place to anyone as you cannot beat the quality and the service you get.

Cannot fault the food. Very tasty and great choice of different things. Love the fritto misto. Shame about the 30 minute wait...still worth it...just.
