The rooms are based around a square courtyard of converted steadings adajacent to the Inn and have been well finished. The room was a good size with bathroom off. All very comfortable and warm - we stayed in October. Cleaning in the room could be better - the cold tap was dirty underneath which was noticeable every time I used the washbasin. One of the teacups still had the previous user's tea stained lip-marks and one of the teaspoons looked as though someone had used it to eat their yoghurt and the tea tray was dirty. A bit of cleaning to do before I start which is unexpected. Can I suggest that cups are removed and put through the dishwasher between guests ?
There is no view to speak of being within a courtyard. The Inn though, is set within the large grounds of the Torridon Hotel - the posh place next door ! We had a nice walk around these after we arrived - take your camera, the views are stunning. There are a wide variety of activities and the Inn is very suitable for families, although our kids are grown up now. The Inn had a cosy bar, games room and a separate restaurant. Some of the seating in the bar has seen better days though.
The menu in the restaurant appears basic with a few specials - we noticed that the unattractively named 'belly of pork' was on every night while we there, tweaked nighlty in some way - guess they didn't have much success with it. However, the basic menu must be tried - it defies its initial basic description as the food was produced superbly. We had the 'pie of the day' (but didn't change by the day) which was very tasty. Try the mussels also, which come with two bread rolls so you can soak up the delicious sauce - superb ! Breakfast was excellent - with the tastiest porridge I have had in a long time. Obvious quality in the ingredients - sausage, black pudding, potato scone - all very high quality and set us up nicely for the day.
The setting of this place though is amazing. If you like outdoor activities - it would be difficult to beat the location and facilities. Staff - all very friendly and professional - a pleasure. Overall we had an excellent stay and we will be back.

Didn't stay here, we stayed in a cottage just a few hundred yards away in Annat, we called in here for a meal on our first day on the Saturday. This pub serves quality restaraunt food and both my partner and I who were with another couple were really impressed with the service, staff friendlyness and food. If you call in here try the mussels, by far the tastiest dish of mussels I have had in along time. Had a quality fillet steak for the mains, whilst my partner had a fish which was practically hanging over both sides of the plate!!

This place is a walkers paradise after a long day in the mountains in the highlands, it also boasts an excellent bar with a superb selection of fine malt whiskeys.

Highly recommended

Excellent service and very good food. This was our first trip to the area and we enjoyed fabulous weather for walking and cycling. The room was good for the children with bunk beds and there was plenty to do in the bar for adults and the children, including pool table, wifi, computer, games and a tv. Staff were very friendly and looked after us well. The area has spectacular scenery.

Moved across to the Inn after a night in the very luxurious hotel. The staff took care of all our luggage for us, and transferred our bill to the Inn to allow just one payment on check-out. All was done smoothly and correctly.

Rooms are generous, with super-king sized beds. Clean and simple decor, but very good for the price. Bathroom adequate, decent shower, and clean.

Food is simple and hearty fare which should fill even the hungriest traveller. Good selection of local ales too. Breakfast can be as minimal or substantial as you want, with continental and cooked options.

Overall it provides great value in a fantastic setting. If you want the last word in luxury, go to the hotel instead....but for about a quarter of the price, the Inn is excellent.

Large, cosy room with bunk beds much to the kids delight. Great selection of nice teas in the room.Lots of hot water and lovely Ness products. Very friendly staff, particularly Gerrard and April who looked after us most in the restaraunt. Food excellent and my husband loved the Ales. Fantastic location for walking, cycling and outdoor activities with spectacular views all round. Our 11 and 14 yr old managed Beinn Damh and enjoyed the fresh snow too. Fab weather was a bonus too! Oh and wi-fi for the teens in the pool room. Everyone happy.

Arrived here at 6.30pm by bike after a long day cycling the Applecross (60 mile) circuit - on my way back to the Torridon YH -and absolutely famished. Ordered a cheese souffle starter and hake for my main course. The cheese souffle went down a treat but waited 45 mins for my main and had to remind the manger 3 times and argue it was poor service. Felt awful doing so as I don't like to complain but really felt ignored; alone with nothing to do and above all, starving. When it came it was fanatastic and the manager relented and admitted it was poor service and gave me the £12.50 back which I then spent on a very nice cheese board and coffee. So what started off as poor service ended up leaving me feeling a bit embarassed about it. I very much enjoyed the food and the ales are excellent too. Others around me seemd to be getting their food on time so just a problem with my fish order I think that night, but properly rectified which you would expect at an establishment like this.

Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear about your 45 minute wait for your main course. This is not acceptable at all and we are glad to hear that the situation was resolved. We only hope this didn’t overshadow too much what otherwise seems to have been a good meal. We hope you will come again when next up this way. Regards, Dan and Rohaise

Stopped off here by chance at the end of a long wet drive up the west coast from Fort William. From the young man on reception who greeted us (and thankfully had a room to offer ) to all the waiting staff in the restaurant, we couldn't fault them - all very pleasant, helpful and welcoming.
Our room was lovely, tastefully decorated and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities etc. the bathroom was also very nice, fluffy towels and good quality toiletries.
We ate a lovely dinner in the restaurant and breakfast next morning was faultless. All excellent quality food and very well prepared.
Special mention to the lovely Australian waitress who couldn't do enough for us and always had a lovely smile and the young ?Australian/South African waiter at breakfast.
We would return in a minute and at £99 per night DB&B, fabulous value
Lovely...........
