“Poor quality lunch”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

I am really wondering if the kitchen is used to prepare food or to take it out from package ! Between the minestrone coming from supermarket, the badly defrost chips, the " garden salad " which definitely does not come from the garden, of course no dressing, the so called "homemade" garlic bread, depressing beef burger, very hard choice ! And i prefer not to mention the price, which has to reflect the high standard of the hotel and the restaurant just next door. Can't find anything good about this pub, skip the stop and go to co-op'.

Many thanks for your review. I am disappointed that you did not enjoy our food on this occasion, however I do wish to re-assure you that all of our dishes are prepared and cooked in our own kitchen, including our soup of the day. In order to ensure continuous improvements I have fed back all of your concerns to the kitchen team and we will ensure that improvements are made. Finally, with regard to price we feel that £9.95 is exceptionally good value for a locally sourced beef burger made from premium highland beef. I do hope that you will return to The Torridon Inn in the future. Warm Regards, Allan

“Nice food average service”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

The website suggests this is a 5 star experience in the Highlands but our particular experience didn't reflect this. Disappointed that the scallops came from Skye and not from Loch Torridon and the thought of eating a Highland Coo burger while the hotel's own Highland coos grazed In front of us in a small muddy paddock didn't inspire. The bar smelled of sweaty clothes and wasn't as cosy as we had imagined. That said, everyone around us seemed happy.

I am delighted that you enjoyed our food and wish, as a point of clarity to confirm that the Torridon Inn offers a friendly and relaxing 4 star Inn experience. this is not to be confused by the Hotel which shares our name and ownership which offers 4-Red-Star standards and a 3 AA Rosette restaurant.

With regards to your comments on the bar area, I am disappointed that this was not to your taste, however many of our guests find it the perfect place to relax after a long day on the hill. Likewise, many people enjoy being assured of the provenance of our home grown highland cattle which are sourced, as you can see, very locally indeed.

I do hope that you will visit The Torridon again, perhaps to try our award winning fine-dining restaurant. Many thanks,

Allan

“A tasty meal in beautiful surroundings!”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

We had a lovely meal in an informal setting with views down to the Loch. Smoked salmon to die for and a rump steak cooked to perfection. Allan & his Team could not have been more attentive.
Can't wait for our next visit to the area so we can go back!
