stunning bedroom, really excellent food and great personal service from very attentive staff - thoroughly recommended all round. We stayed for a couple of days at the end of our highland honeymoon and it was perfect. On the first night we came back from dinner to find a hot water bottle had been put in our bed, and a box of chocolates! The whisky bar is something to behold and Coleen was always on hand with expert single malt advice. An excellent hotel in a stunning setting.
- also, it's worth taking a walk to Jo's cafe in Torridon village for a great carrot cake.

The boat house is managed by the owners of the hotel. It is in a spectacular location right on the loch with a backdrop of mountains to marvel at . There are no neighbours and you are totally secluded. The house is very comfortable with 2 bedrooms. Beds are of good quality. There is a shower room downstairs and bathroom upstairs. Heating and water are all included as is the log burner which you need if it is cold. The kitchen has all and all works well. The house has comfortable sofas and chairs and a place to sit and look at the ever changing loch and mountains. Whisky is supplied as is a few food items including wine. It is an expensive let but well worth it for the location. The hotel is 3-5 mins away by car and the dinner we had there on one eveing was very good and also very imaginative. Yes I would go again but you have to book well in advance and pay 50% up front by cheque. What would I improve?? Have house warm for guests on arrival, improve heating in 2nd bedroom and maybe update upstairs bathroom given weekly price of let . Nonetheless a wonderful place to stay and enjoy this stunning area.

Room Tip: Dont take a huge car as the rd to the boat house is narrow with tight turns

Stayed here last weekend, having booked a weekend away for my wife's birthday. The setting is second to none, and the hotel is everything you would expect it to be.
For me, the staff are what make the hotel that bit "extra special". Absolutely nothing is too much trouble, to a man (and lady of course!), they seem very satisifed in their work, and actually come across as giving a great service because they want to, not because they have to.
The owners even left a box of chocolates in the room for my wife's birthday as well. Nice touch.
The food is outstanding. I say this as a man who likes his food! It's every bit as good as you'd expect in a top Edinburgh or London restaurant - with service to match.
I don't like revisiting places I've already been (let's face it, there's a big world out there), but I just may have to return to The Torridon. It's that good.

With world class scenery nearby, it is very rewarding to know that there is a hotel that matches the magical location in every way, From the minute you enter the one time "Shooting Lodge" you know that this is going to be special !!! Great rooms, huge bathrooms.....even a hot water bottle to take the chill off the bed at night. Then there is the food !!!! Exquisite canapes, followed by an example of fine dining, that is rarely equalled throughout Scotland. You must also try the selection of Malt Whisky's and special Gins, which are an art in themselves. Perhaps the best are the walks in Torridon, made all the more pleasurable by "Ryan", whose friendly and knowledgeable banter, was the icing on the cake !!!!
With the sun shining through the mist and Loch Torridon mirroring the mountains.....the views were truly magical.
When Scotland does it right as "The Torridon" does, why would you go anywhere else? Congratulations to all the staff, especially Colleen, just because she is the manager, of a superb team.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Torridon as part of a couples driving tour round the west coast, staying at lovely hotels with fine dining and wine! This time we stayed in the new 1887 Suite, which was absolutely magnificent, stunning bathroom, and a lovely sitting room perfect for pre dinner drinks. Very comfortable bed. The food was top notch with a great menu, with a wine list to match. The location is superb and we just love walking to see the highland cows on Sunday morning. Great trip, and I am sure we will be back soon!

I know that this is 6 months after eating here but I was planning going back to stay in the hotel for a weekend with my wife as the food was that good. The service was the best I have ever experienced with very kind and attentive staff. I had a chat with a couple of them and they had worked there for quite a while so it sounds like they were well looked after by the owners and really enjoyed the job and location. The food was just fantasic and it is up there in my top 3 meals EVER. I loved the ambiance of the lounge and the restaurant and it was a truly wonderful dining experience.

Having got married at the hotel 12 years ago, we felt the urge to visit again. We were not disappointed. The staff are amazing and do everything thay can to make your stay as pleasent as possible and nothing was to much effort. My favourite bit was getting back to the room after dinner to find the bed warmed by a hot water bottle. What a lovely touch. The food is also fantastic and leaves many top resturants in the shade. Looking forward to going again soon
