Recommended by our hosts in the Golf View House we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal here. Staff were very attentive and helpful. The starters were generous, beautifully presented and fresh made. We both ordered the Thai chicken as main. The presentation was as appetising as it was flavoursome. We struggled to do it justice, helped down with a lovely dry house white. We made use of a comfy seating area to the corner of the bar, allowing our meal to digest before considering a desert. There was a good choice but we both opted for the Cranachan. Although it was a lovely sweet it was not the traditional Cranachan expected. Instead of the toasted crunchy layers of honeyed oatmeal with fresh raspberries and cream it was more of a cream with raspberry coulis and a very light soggy oat portion. We fed this back to the staff when they collected our dishes and they intended to pass our comments to the chef. If the oatmeal had been toasted I would have rated this 5 * for visitors. I would go back next time I am visiting Tain.
