“Picture Perfect”
Reviewed June 9, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

A piece of perfection nestled in the hills, having been there last year for a weekend we wanted to go back and spend longer enjoying the rural location and relax. John and Helen have done an amazing job and the finishing touches are simply fantastic. From the minute we arrived we just relaxed straight away planning our days out. Every day was planned from Loch Ness to dolphin watching and a ride up the Cairngorm Railway, returning back to chill out in the garden watching the wildlife. The Pine Martin came out at various times along with a frequent woodpecker. A brief walk up the track and two deer are standing on the side of the bank. Can't wait to go back again. Thank you so much John and Helen for allowing us to use the lodge.

“Relaxing Week”
Reviewed May 9, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

My family including a dog spent a week here during the Easter holidays. We were visiting with friends who also have 2 dogs. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, including a newly purchased Yorkshire pudding tin. The outdoor area is fantastic, great if you have children and pets. The choice of walks is endless, with an abundance of wildlife on your doorstep. This is a great place to stay if you are wanting a weak of peace or a base to explore the Highlands.

“A quiet retreat with everything you need for a very comfortable stay”
Reviewed May 7, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A beautiful cottage/lodge, with large grounds and outdoor decking areas. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean and homely, with everything you would need. This was our third stay and since our last visit John and Helen have refurbished the kitchen and bathrooms to fantastic standards... Simply stunning

With the added pleasure of seeing wildlife up close, Pine Marten and her kittens taking up residence in one of the trees, woodpecker feeding from the bird feeders in the trees in the garden, wild deer not too far away you could never be disappointed!!!

“So quaint and cozy”
Reviewed May 5, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

My family and I stayed here for our duration in Scotland. We loved our time here so much so that we took a day off from touring Scotland just to enjoy the cottage and it's grounds. The house has everything you need, and it is so clean! We felt so comfortable there and were sad to leave. My family is already talking about when we could go back just so we can stay at this cottage. By far it was one of the highlights of our trip. Zero negatives to be said!

“Quite simply the perfect place to unwind and refresh.”
Reviewed April 24, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This is a truly outstanding property that will give you everything you could possibly want from a holiday rental. The lodge is very atmospheric, warm and inviting. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and functional, the living room is outstanding with a highly efficient wood burning stove and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The garden is an absolute delight with two decks at different levels all set in plenty of space. Strathconon is an area of outstanding beauty and the lodge acts as a great base for wider exploration of the northern Highlands. As a Highlander myself, I have very high expectations regarding scenery and atmosphere. Those expectations were totally exceeded in what was a wonderful trip back to the area I grew up in back in the 1970s and 1980s. I cannot recommend West Lodge highly enough and my wife and I will certainly be back for more. It only remains for me to thank John and Helen very much for a totally trouble free and highly pleasurable letting experience.

“A little piece of Highland Paradise”
Reviewed January 29, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Had a wonderful long weekend at this most beautiful Lodge. Lucky enough to be there after a heavy snowfall. Simply stunning location. The property has been renovated to the highest standard and has everything you could ever want for a comfortable stay . It is dog friendly, our dogs had a wonderful time in the secure gardens. We even lit the firepit and enjoyed sitting around the fire on the decking in the snow with our hot chocolate! Wonderful walks from property .......we cannot wait to return for another visit.
