“Great Location”

The hotel is full of character and beatifully located in amongst the surroundind countryside and hills,
When we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly owner Phil. When I explained to him that we were on a return visit to the hotel for my wife's birthday he upgraded us to his 'best room' free of charge which was a lovely gesture.
The room was spacious and comfortable with two armchairs that had stunning views over the surrounding hills.
We stayed for dinner/bed and breakfast and although the portion sizes were quite small, the food was very tasty. Again the views from the restaurant were stunning.
There was also a good selection of bottled beers and wines.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

Comfortable bed with ensuite bath/shower overhead. No central heating in the room so I'm glad it wasn't later in the year. No tv in the room so if that's important to you take note. Good breakfast choice.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while on holiday in Scotland.

The hotel is comfortable and well maintained. It is almost in the centre of Strathpeffer, just up the hill from the town square. It is a small hotel with around half a dozen rooms and is mercifully free of the coach tour trade that dominates most of Strathpeffer's hotels.

Phil and Sarina, who took over the hotel earlier this year, were welcoming and engaging. Sarina is originally from Mauritius and offers Mauritian food alongside a more traditional dinner menu.

We had a spacious superior deluxe room with a great view over the town. The room was well furnished with two excellent arm chairs, a coffee table and a radio/CD set, though oddly not a TV. The bathroom was good and we found the free wifi useful.

We did find a few things a bit puzzling.  We were asked to make our breakfast order by 9.30 each night, which is more "institutional" than we are used to. There was a good range of breakfast choices, including all the components of a full Scottish breakfast, but strangely no bacon. Most unexpectedly, when our room was serviced after our first night's stay our bed was left untouched. We later deduced we were expected to make it ourselves, which wasn't a problem, but isn't what we expect in a proper hotel.

So a few quirks, but overall a decent stay and we wish Phil and Sarina well.

Strathpeffer is a lovely highland spa village, in a glorious setting which is often host to a few coach tour operators similar to other Spa towns south of the border. Staying here you dont notice the coach trips though.

The Richmond is a charming building full of character, with warm welcoming hosts who focus on making their guests welcome. The setting adds to the feeling of getting away from it.

The food is spot on and the choice of beers and ales in the cosy bar could keep you in their all night (unfortunately I had to go to work the next day). I will certainly keep the Richmond on my list of stop overs.

This place has a slightly shabby appearance, but is absolutely charming - probably the best place I stayed during a ten-day tour of Scotland. Everything was clean, there was a very calm air about the place, and the owners could not have been more helpful. I was even asked what consistency I wanted for my breakfast porridge.... you can't ask for more than that. IUt gets my enthusiastic recommendation. The price was very reasonable, too.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Richmond for 3 nights. My friends and some other family stayed in the bigger hotels near by. I would have to say that Jeremy and Heather made us feel very welcome and catered for all our requirements. (A wedding party can be very demanding!!)
The larger hotel bars closed up at around 11 p.m. but as residents we could have a drink until the wee small hours.
The breakfast was fantastic and cooked to order, my friends in the other hotel meantime were going for breakfast at Tesco's in Dingwall!!

The rooms were clean and the bedding fresh what more could a body ask for.

I think we shall be back for another visit in the future.

The richmond hotel is one of the best places i have ever stayed!
Jeremy and Heather were two of the nicest and most accomidating people I have ever come across.
I stayed in the hotel for my sisters wedding, the rooms were massive for getting ready in and were spotless.
The beds were lovely and comfortable, even the bunkbeds!
The breakfast was fantastic with a great deal of choice and quick service.
The bar area was lovely and heated and although it was quiet it suited us well as we brought a number of the wedding party up the night after the wedding for a few drinks in the well priced bar.
The surrounding area was lovely and a perfect venue for a wedding!
Thanks again to everyone for making the weekend so enjoyable!!!
Would recommend to anyone!!!
