“Nice looking restaurant but food could be better”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We were staying in the area for 3 nights and decided to give this place a try, although it was a Saturday night it was not that busy although we had booked a table. The menu choices appeared to be ok and the 4 of us chose a starter and main course each, only one of our party enjoyed the starter, the rest of us were disappointed. I think the chef is trying too hard, there were too many different flavours on the plate and took the enjoyment out of the food, my friend and I ordered for our starter, crab ravioli with lobster bisque but both of us couldn't eat it, the bisque was not what I expected, it was a dark brown colour and very strong flavour which meant you couldn't taste the one ravioli that was swimming about in it. We did tell the waitress that we did not enjoy our meal and she appologised and said she woul take the price of 1 starter from our bill, very disappointing but as we were on holiday there is no need to try this place again. I am sure many people will go here and enjoy their food but I'm afraid it was not for us.

“Another hidden little gem”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Found this lovely little restaurant while strolling around Strathpeffer. On the off chance that they could cater for two on a busy Saturday night, we enquired and where delighted that they found us a table at such short notice. The lady taking the booking was very helpful and pleasant. We arrived back at the restaurant a few hours later to take our places, to be warmly welcomed by very pleasant staff, the restaurant has been recently refurbished, presenting a modern clean and fresh appearance. The menu was a delightful mixture of traditional Scottish food with a modern twist, the wine menu was limited but the choice of wines available was just about right, the service and staff were excellent. We would certainly recommend this little hidden gem to anyone visiting Strathpeffer.

Loved the pie of the day (pheasant, quail). Great selection of beer. They even had homemade mac and cheese for my homesick teen.

This restaurant is in attractive surroundings in the centre of Strathpeffer. It offers a modern menu and the food and service were good. A useful place in a very quiet area.
