“Great location, comfortable house, poor communication”

The house couldn't be better located, as it looks out directly to the Cromarty Firth. The accommodations are comfortable, with an amply furnished kitchen, a good-sized living room, and the bedrooms are quiet and pleasant. As it rained a great deal while we were there, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the small, well-appointed back garden, though it looks as though it'd be a nice spot for sitting out on a warm evening. The bathroom has been recently refurbished to a high standard.

Our single difficult was in contacting the owners; we began our rental transaction using Tripadvisor, but the owners failed to follow through and didn't close out the initial transaction through Tripadvisor. We ended up having to call them to get information on how to pay our balance using PayPal. So, don't depend on using Tripadvisor for completion of the rental process as the owners won't respond from that platform.

“Very nice experience for American visitors”
Reviewed November 4, 2014 for a stay in June 2013

Nice stay in a lovely village.
The kitchen was well appointed. Nice to have a clothes line for wet laundry. Spacious bathroom. Cozy bedrooms. Comfortable living room.

Cromarty is a lovely village from which to access the Highlands but also a tempting place to stay put! Good restaurants, pubs, bakeries, shops, hikes, museums.

“good value holiday accommodation”

This is a perfectly comfortable two bedroom cottage by the sea. Downstairs there is a bathroom with bath, separate shower, wc; living room; kitchen; sun room; good size storage cupboard for boots, coats etc. There is a patio area to the front of the property overlooking the sea, and at the back is a small courtyard garden which is decked and has a clothes drier. There are a couple of wicker chairs and two fold up deck chairs that can be used outdoors. Upstairs there is a bedroom to the front with double bed and twin bedroom to the rear of property. There is a flat screen tv in living room and double bedroom and property has wi fi. Kitchen has large freezer, fridge, washing machine and is generally well stocked with utensils etc.
Some of the furnishings look a bit dated, but i think this is reflected in the lower price for this holiday accommodation so no complaints in this regard. Overall the accommodation was clean and comfortable and i would highly recommend to those on a budget.
We had some great days out in the area and enjoyed the seaside location.

“Excellent accommodation with unrivalled views of Cromarty Firth from bay window”
Reviewed April 30, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A stay in the Cromarty area some 37 years since a previous stay at Cromarty Mains Farm. Little has changed but we have been considerably impressed by what is available locally. Wildfowl and similar is a must for birders, especially the RSPB Udale Bay hide some 7 miles along the Black Isle.
The cottage is comfortable, furnished and equipped to a high standard. We have enjoyed relaxing in comfort whilst watching the maritime activities in the Firth and delighted to return to the area.
Walks along the beach and to the quays and green have been good.

“A quiet and peaceful getaway, with plenty to keep an active outdoors-oriented family occupied.”
Reviewed April 11, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This is a very well equipped cottage, perfect for a family group, or two couples. The front bedroom has a spectacular view of Cromarty Firth, as does the living room and front patio - one sunset was particularly stunning! There is a lot to do in and around Cromarty, for those who want to enjoy the views and walks. The beach is at your doorstep, which can keep the young ones occupied for hours. Some superb eating in and around the area, including one of the best pizza restaurants that we've eaten at (Sutor Creek Cafe), which has also just opened a smaller bistro, which serves lovely ice-creams (Couper's Creek, on Church Street). For those who might not like the sight of oil rigs, however, be warned that Cromarty Firth has a thriving yard with a dry dock for repairing and building oil platforms - this obviously brings a lot of jobs and investment to the area, but does affect the views (we got used to it, and it did not spoil our holiday at all). Otherwise, nothing to be faulted in this idyllic spot.

“Perfect peaceful retreat”

What a lovely house in a lovely setting. We couldn't have asked for anything more from this perfectly comfortable cosy house. The bathroom is fabulous with a great shower and the kitchen is very well equipped with a great big fridge and freezer. You could just stock up on supplies and spend the whole week sitting at the bay window looking out at the water and all the comings and goings, but we didn't. We ventured out and did most of the walks around Cromarty, which are all well marked out and easy to follow. The path to Eathie beach is very steep coming back up, but worth it and the hide and the end of the firth is great. We wil definitely visit again.

“Lovely Seaside Cootage”
Reviewed April 26, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

The views of Cromarty Firth are amazing. Watching the traffic on the firth offers its own kind of entertainment. It's a great spot for walks by the sea and into Cromarty, which is a lovely quiet town. The cottage is well appointed, spacious and clean.
