After a long drive through the exquisite Applecross scenery it was a treat to arrive at Clive and Maureen's home at the far end of the campsite. They take sharing their home with their guests very seriously and provide a highly personal and relaxed stay. Our two rooms were large and comfortable with new en-suite shower rooms. Toiletries, hairdryer and tea and coffee-making supplies were provided. These touches do make a difference. Clive cooked an excellent breakfast in the morning. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again next time.

We stayed here for 2 nights in hut 8 and it was lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the amenities are good. Infact both times i went to the showers they were being cleaned thoroughly.
The location is excellent, the town of Applecross is beautiful. I would have loved to stay longer and explore some of the walks or bike trails around the area.

Lovely site and what a location - particularly the views from the upper field.

I stayed for a couple of nights in one of the Camping Huts. Its exterior was shabby and could have done with a lick of paint or varnish. However, inside was spotless and in excellent condition. My big gripe is the low entrance door - about 4ft6in - and try as best as I could to remember that, I've still got the scars on my scalp to prove that I didn't always !

Room Tip: The upper field huts and tent pitches offer a better view, whereas the lower field is handier for th...

Love this campsite, the road getting there is the best ever. Was so shocked to also find out it had the most amazing rest on site. It is so quircky too. I loved it.

The wigwams are over priced, you get nothing in them at all, which is a shame as a little concern for the guest would go a very long way. Most people using the wigwams where bikers. We can't carry much and would love you forever if you would just give us a kettle haha.

The pub at the shore is also top so make sure you stay a few night so you don;t have to chose between them for dinner.

Even though I have said it is over priced we are still booked to go back again this year so it can't be that bad

Please beware which hut you choose. They are not all as advertised in the photos. For example hut 11 is in the owners back garden along with all his rubbish, gardening equipment and drying laundry. The hut is enveloped in shrubs and trees and doesn't see the light of day. The owner was beligerent and rude when I responded to his request for feedback. I have to say the location is excellent however and despite my annoyance with the service I would recommend camping or staying in some of the other huts.

Room Tip: Don't choose hut 11.

First time in wigwam and great value. Beautiful site, well maintained with good shower/ toilet/ laundry block, friendly helpful staff, will return. Easy walk into village of applecross where the inn is a superb venue for eating, drinking and socialising in the most stunning of locations.

My daughter and I travelled the West coast of Scotland for the half term week, we stayed at the Applecross campsite two days before the winter closedown (as advised the tunnel cafe was closed) The booking over the phone was very pleasent, a wealth of pertinent information was provided and payment taken, even a forcast for the predicted weather was given.
The drive to Applecross over the pass was literally breathtaking, the campsite very easy to find, our pitch (a hardstanding with hookup and water) was level and centrally located within the camp itself. The tunnel tent closes in September so really all we were expecting was a place to sleep and clean up.
The showers were spotless and the water piping hot, washing machines were available as was the expected sinks for dishes etc.
There is a childrens play area with equipment, it was too wet to use on the day of our visit (more to do with wet children than unsuitability of equipment)
On the night we stayed it rained continiously (not unexpected for Scotland at the end of October) but the pitch remained dry and well drained, the grass seemed quite waterlogged however, but this was on the level, the slightly sloping ground remained firm.
The walk into the village is short, several shops and the Applecross inn (seperate review) make it worthwhile.
The facillities were excellent, and to be this good at the end of the season is a credit to the campsite team.
