Applecross Campsite

Great site but could be better. Only two showers for each gender is not enough. Had a great time and seemed to attract the entire site kids when playing rounders. Great area not to be missed. Trips to the coral beach and to the Applecross Inn are a must.

Fourth time staying at the site. We love Applecross. Great to have the poly tunnel on site...great pizza, good wee bar, so close to the Inn, the estate and the beaches. Usually we camp and as other reviewers say, there is a need for more showers and the toilet block is getting tired. We can look past that normally. This time we thought we'd treat ourselves since our good old Scottish weather had let us down before, so we stayed in one of the statics. It cost £595 for 1 week and although home comforts were a treat compared with camping, it was really shabby. Threadbare stained couches, all the bedlinen seemed freshly laundered but very badly stained which is really off putting, floppy thin pillows, carpets & blinds need replacing, the kettle broke after a couple of uses, the toaster was broken (didn't bother using after first couple of times holding the handle down), it smelt of dogs, the balcony was tiny compared to the other statics, the gate broken off and only 2 chairs for a potentially 6 berth caravan (not that you could even fit 4 chairs round the table anyway. Oh and barely a view through the trees. I hate to pick up on so many things, but once we noticed one thing, all the rest become apparent. My parents had stayed in a static further along the row and it was lovely...that was the standard we expected. The owners need to address the quality for that price. Really disappointed.

Breathtaking views! The road to applecross is an experience in itself. We received a friendly welcome and we were allowed to pick where we wanted to pitch our tent. Disappointed that the play park has been demolished. We ate at the garden tunnel restaurant on the sat night. It's pricey but the meal was lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a clean and relaxed site.

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend. Applecross itself is fairly remote and the campsite seems to have taken advantage by what they choose to charge. The site is pleasant, there was plenty of space when we got there. The pub is a few minutes walk away as is the beach. Toilets and showers were clean but two ladies showers for a decent sized campsite didn't seem enough.

This little campiste is in a gorgeous location, with sea views and in stumbling distance from the local pub.

We stayed in one of the pods, which was a real treat for us. But in terms of pitching, the campiste seemed really quiet and everyone had lots of space. You can also drive your car right up to your pitch, so there was no lugging heavy gear around.

On site facilities are great, including the cafe were we ate breakfast every morning. Showers were always empty when I visited (which I have never encountered before!); they were also clean and hot.

My only one, tiny criticism is that some of the staff seemed a bit surly, but perhaps we caught them at a bad time.

The place where Applecross Campsite is based is very nice but the camp side it self is not. It needs a bit of TLC. You are welcomed by kind of scrap yard... (old 4x4's, an engine from bmw). Cleaning service is run in the pick time. The are high prices so for everything so They should meet high quality.

We are regular visitors to Applecross, it is a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary with lots of charm. This is our third time in Applecross and our second time at the campsite. We stayed in the camping pods, cute wooden huts equipped with plug sockets, a heater and plastic matts to sleep on. The matts were very comfortable and the pods were warm enough that we didn't need the heater. The views from the campsite are beautiful; our pod looked out across the bay. Seeing the shimmering water against a backdrop of hills and mountains was a lovely start to the day. The showers were hot, and the shower blocks were cleaned regularly. The onsite bar had a great selection of snacks and drinks and the restaurant, 'The Flower Tunnel', was excellent. The restaurant is a converted poly tunnel, resplendent with flowering plants and grapevines. We enjoyed breakfast there every morning to a soundtrack of relaxing, contemporary folk music. The vegetarian sausages in particular were delicious. We chose to eat our evening meals at the nearby Applecross Inn which is a fantastic pub with superb food and just a short walk from the campsite.
