We love this place. It is calm, warm and comfortable. We had two lovely lunches and also a cream tea. The food is fresh, well cooked and uses local produce. We can recommend the sticky toffee pudding which was to die for! Can't wait to go back!

We try to get over to eat here two/three times a year - and our latest visit in late September was the best yet. The sun was out and the sheltered garden made eating outside really enjoyable.
The standard menu was supplemented by daily specials and we enjoyed the (made on site) spicy venison sausages with mash so much that we bought all the sausages the chef had spare to take home with us!
The sea food options being served at tables around us was coming out as huge portions, and although we could not manage the scrummy cake selection after our meal, we bought some slices to take back home for supper. The restaurant staff work hard but with a smile and no sense of stress or rush, which results in such a relaxing, welcoming vibe that we wish we could manage to get over more often.
Five years on it is interesting to see how the gardens (and their home grown herb beds) are developing, and a walk around them is a great part of the visit.
We ate a couple of years ago at the Applecross Inn just the once, and had such a disappointing and overpriced experience that we regretted our moment of betrayal! Eat here - it is so worth the scenic drive there and back.

This place seems to get better and better every time we visit (maybe 2 times a year !).
We visited last Saturday for a spot of lunch. My wife opted for the delicious crab cakes served with chips and a side salad and being a "veggie" I went for the hot provencal vegetables in a ciabatta served with side salad and chips. Very tasty !!
The weather was absolutely stunning on the west coast with cloudless skies and butterflies were still flitting about the flowers in the walled garden. Several folk decided to have lunch 'al fresco' as the sun was still warm (even in mid October !!). Thankfully there were NO midges !!!
After lunch we walked around the grounds of the beautiful Applecross Estate. Superb.

Well worth the short trip from Applecross. Great food, staff in a cool setting.
Thanks to the excellent hosts.
The chef was willing to make up meals to our wishes - it just all sounded so good. Not disappointed.
