“Good food”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We ate here on 3 occasions whilst staying at Wildside Lodges. We both had the steak and ale pie which was peppery but very good quality. The next time we both had the chicken stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon with a whisky sauce off the special board - wonderful!! I had a curry one night and the quality was high - I had half chips, half rice.

The only plea I would have is that the pub does homemade chips rather than frozen ones - please! I think most of the main meals were around £10-£13. The steaks were a little more expensive.

We found the staff very very friendly and welcoming - from the moment we stepped in! The bar staff recommended and let us taste the local beers before we purchased a full pint. The bar aware is dog friendly - staff fussed over our dog. They had an amazing range of whiskies which we sampled.

Meet a lot of lovely people including some great bikers who were staying. We've booked the lodges again and would defo eat here again. Thanks for a warm, Scottish welcome.

we ate here one night whilst staying down the road at Wildside. we both had curry which was actually very nice and you could tell it was homemade. Staff were very helpful as we could adapt our dish.

Dessert was pretty amazing. i had the banoffee pie and i must say, its the best ive tasted for some time! well done.

We went to the Whitebridge for dinner as we were staying nearby for the night and were not disappointed. The food was lovely (we had the prawn dopiaza, chicken tikka masala, rhubarb crumble and banoffee pie). The service was lovely, it was my boyfriend's birthday so I asked them (on the sly) to pop a few candles on his dessert which I provided and they obliged no problem. Infact, the entire pub broke into a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' when the dessert was brought out which was totally unexpected and funny (at the expense of my bf! :-) ) Really welcoming atmosphere in the pub, would definitely recommend to anyone - families, couples or someone travelling solo - was one of those great places where the locals will just chat away.

“uncomfortable meal”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

recently my partner and i were staying in the whitebridge area and decided to eat out at this hotel. We went in for a bar meal, food was fairly good, however, the bar was full of rowdy locals with the barmaid encouraging there unacceptable behaviour. Through dinner we experienced there foul and graphic language. Overall i feel it was let down by this for what could of been a lovely meal.
