“Like staying with family!”
Reviewed March 25, 2010

We had the pleasure of staying with Donald and Margaret for 2 nights recently. When we first arrived we were given our key and taken to our room and given a few helpful hints and tips from Margaret.

The room was very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The room was also en-suite which was spotless.

The breakfast was cooked fresh and very plentiful and set us up for our day of sight seeing.

Margaret and Donald are excellent hosts and do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your stay. Would stay here again if ever back in the area.

We undertook a driving holiday, mainly of Scotland, from Heathrow airport, where we landed and hired a car, up as far north as the Orkney Islands and back again. We stayed primarily at bed & breakfasts found over the internet, checked out via Tripadvisor where possible.

This was a great B & B. It’s a new house, but purpose built to operate as a B & B, rather then being squeezed into an existing house. Our room was huge, with everything you could need - a new clean bathroom (bath/shower), flatscreen TV on the wall, free Wi-Fi in the room, bottled water, and affable hosts. The view from our room was nice, and you might get to see some of the wildlife from the window (pheasants, deer). There’s a serviceable pub just up the (long) driveway.

Breakfast was nice, with a good mix of cold and a choice of hot.

As a base to visit Loch Ness and surrounds, this B&B was great.

If thoughts of trashy tourism put you off Loch Ness, don’t let it. The Loch Ness monster phenomenon is restricted to one area of one town, and quite apart from its reputation, it is a very pretty and very impressive loch (the statistics of its size are staggering – no wonder they never found the monster!).

Kinbrylie was a great choice, and we’d go back without hesitation.

Lovely exceptionally clean and spacious room. Good quality toiletries and fluffy towels, very large shower.
Breakfast included home made bread, and home made haddock kedgreee, all very good.
Saw a wild deer in the large gardens.
Lovely pub with good food just a stroll down the driveway.
Much better than some other 4 star Scottish Tourist Board places we stayed in.
On the quiet not so commercial side of the Loch.
