Although we were given probably the worst lodge they have it really didn't disappoint the place is superb. We stayed in the one bed and it was huge more than enough for us and a baby. Travel cot supplied. The views around are fantastic a amazing drive up to wild side from fort William.

Fort Augustus is the best place for your food and supplies fuel is expensive up here but not overpriced. A few good restaurants also.

I recommend a trip foyers falls. Culloden. Inverness. A walk along fo Augustus canal. If you drive through foyers you are on general wade's military road which runs alongside loch ness, plenty of places to stop get out and enjoy the loch.

Everything about our holiday was perfect thank you wild side.

this was our second stay this time we were in grouse a three bedroom lodge, we stayed over the christmas period and had a fantastic time again, lots of snow which the kids enjoyed and Alan took us to a local farm where we picked a christmas tree and he cut it down for us and took it back to our lodge, the roaring fire is wonderful and cosy. The lodge is very comfortable and clean it has all mod cons and is also quite spacious and has terrific views. Outside each lodge there is a bird table which they fill up with bird feed so each day you get to see different types of birds passing your window, we were lucky enough to see a deer with her young also lots of sheep !! last time we stayed in ptarmigan lodge which is exactly the same,( in august 2009,) we love the peace and tranquillity and our kids love to spend lots of time outside exploring. Foyers falls is fabulous really worth visiting, there is a local pub but apart from that you need to go to fort augustus which is lovely or inverness itself, for phone signal go up the mountain half way, we love it here so much we are staying again in the October half term

My only gripe is that I wish the lodges had a couple more items provided. It lacked sharp knives, a chopping board, extra toilet roll and salt and pepper. Having only stayed self catering once before these things were provided along with basics like washing up liquid. But these problems were easily overcome and our stay was comfortable. It was handy having a good selection of DVDs available from reception. The lounge was compact but comfortable and I can't fault the location, it really is away from it all and peaceful.

Room Tip: Go for Otter Lodge, great views!

Amazing location. Great cleanliness and facilities. The availability of plates and microwave in room made the stay more pleasant. The fireplace in room was amazing in the chilling winters of Scotland. Everything perfect. Must go and stay for longer periods.
