We were not staying at the hotel but visited each of three nights while staying at a local B&B. The owners kindly accomodated our need for food outisde normal opening hours - nothing is too much trouble and a great place to rest, eat and drink in the evenings. These new owners are very customer orientated, and even when we kept Paul serving drinks until late there was not a single grumble! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel - the locals are all very friendly and great fun to be around.

We stayed at the Glenmoriston for one night on a walking holiday. We wished we could have stayed longer. The owner and staff were nothing short of wonderful. They were so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were fine - very comfortable and warm.
The food was great - all in all a real gem!

New owners as of April 2009, and after reading past reviews...this is great news for the hotel.
We got an awesome room for 80 pounds and the owners couldn't be any nicer.
We where in country for two weeks (yes we are Americans) and that hotel was one of the best in our whole stay. Very comfy bed, dvd player and flat screen TV, CD player and a big two person jacuzzi. Bottom line, great secret spot at Loch Ness, we will be back and had a great time there.

The other recent reviews are correct. This hotel is now very good. Very friendly staff, excellent rooms. My twin room had a huge bathroom. Nice decoration and lots of little bits, soap, biscuits etc.

Highly recommended.

The new management, Paul and Sue, and their team have transformed the atmosphere of this hotel since our visit last year. Excellent food, very friendly hosts and efficient staff, charming rooms in a historic building, set in a beatiful rural location close to Loch Ness. A cosy bar and an excellent selection of malt whiskies completed a very pleasant stay. We will be back.

Stayed here again for the first time in a couple of years and have to agree with comments about the previous management....the new management certainly make you feel welcome and the atmosphere has changed a great deal from the priggish attitude that was instilled previously. Food was excellent, service good but there are still teething problems that can be noticed, although I'm sure these will iron out in time. Rooms are good, some a little tired around the edges but a little TLC goes a long way and I think Paul and Sue have the dedication to do this.

The bar has an excellent array of whisky, including a 30 YO Highland Park at GBP 25 a nip (are you tempted?). Overheard a local say to the bar staff how great it was that they could now come into the bar without feeling unwelcome. Bear in mind that there isn't much in the local area, nearest small town is Fort Augusts, about 6 miles away.

Honestly, a great couple of nights, take the previous reviews into account by all mean, but there's a new sheriff in town :-)
