all the poor reviews on here are obviously under the previous management, we stayed for one night 19 july 2014 and it was more or less perfect
ample off road parking, we felt safe leaving our motorcycle un locked there, food was superb, , , my rare steak was that tasty I didn't want to spoil it by using any of the peppercorn sauce, the black pudding at breakfast was the tastiest Ive ever had (and I had 5 portions of black pudding over the weekend in various guises).
friendly bar area with a big telly to keep you in touch while out in the wilds but enough seating elsewhere to escape if required, cheap bar prices, fantastic array of whiskies or malts, and the staff were superb, especially the owner?/ head waitress/receptionist? ailsa?
she was obviously busy and hard worked but took the time to answer all our questions and nothing was too much trouble.
she arranged a doctors visit for one elderly unwell guest and gave us tips on parking our bike more securely and chatted to us about Scottish custom or indeed anything
we shall return and i would recommend it to anyone
there are two wifis available, pick the right one -depending on where you are and you can surf no probs unlike some of the reviewers who experienced trouble

Room Tip: room 4 was above the quiet reception area, so any mattress workouts (cough) went virtually unnoticed...

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of June and had a lovely time. We were in the 4 poster room which was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was amazing. The hotel has lovely walks nearby and is within easy driving distance of Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus. We had breakfast in the hotel both days, and ate in the restaurant one evening, and the food was great. Nice little bar as well and the bar staff, particularly the two sisters, were very friendly.

We would definitely stay here again if we were planning another trip up to Loch Ness. :)

Room Tip: The 4 poster room is a bit more expensive but it is so worth it!!

My husband and I and two other couples stayed over night at the Glenmoriston Arms Hotel whilst walking the Great Glen Way. After a tiring days walking it was a relief to arrive at another picturesque spot and to the charm of the Glenmoriston Arms Hotel. Our room was comfortable and provided everything we needed for our over night stay. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast in the ambient restaurant and the service was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was good value for money. I am glad we chose to stay at the Glenmoriston Arms as our stay there contributed to our overall enjoyment of our Great Glen Way adventure.

My husband and I recently traveled thru England and Scotland. The Glenmoriston was a great place to stay. Very charming. The room was quaint and the restaurant food was amazing. There is a hidden gem to this place though. Right across the road is an amazing river with waterfalls and old stone bridges. A beautiful place for a walk. Had no idea it was there. Would highly recommend this place to romantic couples.

We spent 2 nights at the Glenmoriston Arms in the beginning of June.
The staff were lovely and always had a nice smile.
We had the four poster room. The room was spacious with abundant storage and the bathroom was fantastic. It was clean and appointed very well.
Breakfast was very good and breakfast service was excellent.
Only a few negatives. The wifi didn't work in the room but I did pick up an ok signal in the bathroom. I did get excellent wifi in the downstairs lounge. As there were quite a few 'loud' American tourists who wished to be heard by everyone, I gave up on internet communication back home and went back to my room.
The only other thing was the mattress was a bit boney. Given the price of the room, maybe a thicker mattress would be expected.
Overall, my experience at Glenmoriston Arms was lovely and this is mainly due to Ailsa & her lovely staff.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

We slept in a b&b in the village and on evenings the hotel is the only place to go for a warm meal. The people working there weren't too polite and really stressed because a lot of people came to eat there. Our meal was average and my husband got a kids portion which he paid 15 pound for. After we where ready the waitress came and took the plates just saying we look ready, that was it. Really poor service!
