Walking from Fort Augustus we stayed here for one night on route back to Inverness. Sheila, the host made us very welcome, as it was a relatively short walk to get here we had a free afternoon so it was handy to visit the nearby Falls, it was also handy for the local pub, The Glenmoriston Arms (which you need to pre book for). At the Bracarina House we took advantage of the sauna which helped to revive weary muscles. Breakfast was really nice, could not fault this B&B and would love to return.

Day two of our walk along the Great Glen Way : Invergarry, to Invermoriston on what I can only describe as the wettest day ever, it rained constantly for the full 7 hours it took to walk. On arrival at Bracarina House Sheila’s warm welcome was such a welcome sight. Clearly Sheila had seen wet and muddy walkers before and knew the routine like that back of her had. We were out of the wet muddy stuff in a flash and in our very beg specious and well equipped room, to my delight a great big shower. Dinner over in the Glenmoriston Arms was fantastic, a good pasta meal and some red wine was an excellent end to the day, with a very nice log burner in the lounge area and almost fell asleep there. An excellent night’s sleep back at Bracarina House and magically when we awoke in the morning all of our clothes were dry and ready to go. Breakfast was very nice and loads of it, fresh fruit, followed by scrambled egg on toast was delish. Big thanks to Sheila for the wonderful service and a good history of the area.

Room Tip: Good food at the Glenmoriston Arms, but book ahead as the dinning area is small but very welcoming.

One of the best stops on our weeklong walk of the Great Glen Way. Located in the charming, quiet and small village of Invermoriston, with waterfalls and a anicent stone bridge nearby.

We had a very good dinner at the Invergarry Hotel, just a short walk away from the Bracarina House. Our hosts were very friendly and informative about all things Scottish. Simon provided some great history and information on clans. Shelia served a hearty and delicous breakfast that prepared us well for our uphill climb to start the day. The rooms were of a good size, with many comforts, including a small foot sauna (They have a large sauna too that is adjacent to the main house, but we skipped that). All-in-all a great place to spend a comfortable night in the company of some very hospitable hosts.

Stayed here for one night whilst walking the Great Glen Way. Very friendly and informative owner who greeted us with a generous piece of home made cake. The size of my room was generous, clean, and very well presented, there was even a foot spa in the room. The breakfast was the most generous I had that week and was very well cooked. Very quiet location ideal for a good night's sleep. Next door is a hotel where you can have an evening meal, also very short walk to the post office that sellls sandwiches and snacks; useful for the next day's walk. Difficult to fault, a very high standard guest house.

This charming B&B was one of our favorite stops on the Great Glen Way. The room was spacious and so was the bath. Everything neat and clean. Our hosts were friendly and warmhearted. The breakfast was tasty and lots of it. We would visit again and again if we could. If you stay at Invermoriston don't miss this terrific B&B.
