10 of us stayed in this beautiful house and there was plenty of room for us all. There were lots of beautiful spots around the house to relax and take in the views.
We all loved the house and spending time together in it but we seemed to spend more time in certain places- the kids (and the dog ) loved the gardens , the boys loved the snooker table and the BBQ and for us girls there was the balcony sofa, conservatory and kitchen to enjoy spending some time together . There were plenty of games and dvds available and a large dining table so we could enjoy time together as a family . Lots of local walks also . There is lots to do in the surrounding area, dores beach (& pub!) 20 min drive away, we did a boat trip on Loch Ness and a trip to landmark adventure land amongst other things but you need to be willing to drive as it's in a quiet spot very close to Loch Ness - which is exactly why we booked it . Bonus- lots of raf jets were seen and heard too! I'm sure we'll be back.
Thanks to Sue, Lorna and all involved for some special family memories !
A lovely, well positioned, pet friendly equipped holiday home for a large family or group. Would recommend this for anyone wishing to explore the highlands of Scotland.
A beautiful, spacious property which has been maintained to an extremely high level. 10 people stayed during our week in April/May with more than ample room for all. Facilities are to a high level with a well appointed kitchen. Previous reports have mentioned problems with the light switches, we mastered these with a little patience.
The whole Loch Ness/Inverness area is easily accessible from the house.
Thanks to the housekeeper, Lorna, who was very helpful prior to our stay.
What an amazing place to spend a weekend!! As a party of 11 adults, 2 bairns and 3 dogs we were very well accomodated for with room for more!! We were blown away by the beauty of the building and the scenery. There was lots of space for everyone to potter around and do their own thing whilst still spending quality time together. Despite going in a month where snow was forecast, we ended up experiencing a mini heat wave throughout our vacation which just added to the magic of it all. There was nothing better than chilling in the garden, the upstairs sofa and balcony just admiring the views. Added bonus: leaving the blinds up whilst falling asleep was great as you could star gaze from the comfort of a cosy bed!
We all highly recommend this place for a little family get together and we are already planning our next visit!
Absolutely could not fault this place. Amazing views and a great house to stay in. The company you are with make the weekend but staying in a place like this is the icing on top.
We are a party of 11 that holiday each year in different parts of the UK to experience the best locations in the UK, this one was our 10th. This is the best well laid house to date, bedrooms great,Kitchen facilities great, snooker table great, snug perfect for those that used it. We had a great time in this house and what a setting!! Loch Ness we enjoyed immensely, easy drive to the Cairngorms,Inverness and many sight-seeing expeditions. Not one grumble all week from any of my party and all say they want to return, we will soon. This one for us was ten / ten.
11 of us stayed in this house for a week from 30th December. We ranged in age from 22 to 54, and could not have asked for a more ideal house. Plenty of space , and in idyllic surroundings. The house itself was very warm, in fact too warm for some of us ladies of a 'certain' age!! (although our friends from Singapore, who were staying loved this!) It felt wrong to have the windows open, but certainly needed it when we were all in the Kitchen and dinning room, which for us, was the hub. Loch views are from the front bedrooms, the balcony and also from the Dinning room. There are plenty opportunities for photographs of spectacular scenery in and around Foyers as well as walks. The Craigdarroch Inn was a hit with the men (particularly a pint of Happy Chappy) and the Dores Inn was a welcome break from cooking. If you have a dog, beware that the garden is not fully enclosed, there is no gate, although there is a fence around most of the property. Sensor lightening would have been nice for the patio area. The main lightening in the house is a challenge, but the owners do recognise this in their welcome book. You are very central to lots of fab places to visit, we spent time visiting Fort Augustus, Nairn, Drumnadrochit, and Urquhart Castle. All in all a very relaxed time was had by us and we would all recommend a stay here.
