Location, location, location. This is a beautiful old building in an idyllic position. We cannot commend this B&B highly enough.
We had a charming welcome from Natalie who showed us to our lovely clean room with views over their very special garden to the golf course beyond. Many thoughtful touches added to our enjoyment of our stay, the fresh milk and delicious cupcakes along with Mark's beautifully cooked and presented breakfasts to name but a few. We had our dog Flora with us and while many B&Bs claim to be 'dog friendly' we find they are merely dog tolerant - Kettle House truly is dog friendly.
Luckily we had sunshine during our stay but the DVD selection had something for everyone if stuck indoors.
Leaving our car at Kettle House we had a lovely walk along the Caledonian Canal into Fort Augustus, (15 mins), a most interesting and picturesque spot at the bottom of Loch Ness. Here we found a few shops and eateries along with many photo opportunities of the yachts travelling through the five rise locks on the canal. Trips on Loch Ness leave from here although we chose to walk on the Great Glen Way to Invermoriston, a gorgeous wooded walk with views of Loch Ness en route (7 miles approx). Once at Invermoriston we loved the waterfalls and old bridges (more photos) we found a pub for a well deserved drink before catching the bus back to Fort Augustus and our evening meal in The Bothy.

Hi Ann, Graham and Flora, thank you so much for giving us such a super review. We are so pleased you enjoyed our extra homely touches. Also glad you enjoyed Marks breakfasts he enjoys making them. Yes its true we adore all animals as much as we enjoy seeing people. Great tips of letting other guests know about where to go. We hope to see you all again soon especially Flora who was so good. Many thanks Natalie & Mark

We stayed at Kettle house in March 2013 with our family from Australia. We were greeted by the hosts, Natalie and Mark who made us feel extremely welcome & instantly comfortable. The rooms were spotless and had a few lovely touches that made it all the more homely ( big fluffy towels, DVD's in our room, plates and a small fridge and freshly baked cupcakes), not to mention a delicious breakfast overlooking their lovely garden and wildlife.

The property is set back a bit from fort Augustus but is an easy 15 min walk to the town & loch (they also supply torches for walking back at night, very thoughtful). I would highly recommend this b&b, and we will definitely be back to stay again in the future

Hi there, Many thanks for your great review. Its so lovely to see that you noticed all our wee touches that we pop into the room to add to your comfort during your stay with us. Glad you enjoyed the cupcakes. Mark is pleased you like his breakfast and we are getting more and more wildlife by the minute. We had the red squirrel pop back as well. Hope to see you all again sometime. Many thanks Natalie & Mark

We have stayed at a lot of B and Bs but this was the warmest welcome we have recieved anywhere. The place is spotlessy clean with a lovely garden and feels very private. The bed was really comfy and the towels were large and fluffy. The little extra of the gorgeous home made cupcakes in the room was a most welcome treat. There is a fridge on the landing where fresh milk is available for each room and you could also pop a bottle of wine or keep drinks cold in there. The breakfast was fantastically presented and perfectly cooked by Mark in his spotlessly white Chef's tunic. Natalie and Mark are obviously an extremely hard working couple and they deserve very success with their relatively new adventure. We will be back with Charlie our dog who was made to feel most at home and even got a bit of bacon for his brekkie. Faultless.

Stayed at the Kettle house B and B for a single night during our recent trip to Scotland. Ft. Augustus was chosen as a stop for taking a cruise on Loch Ness and after a somewhat stressful first day of driving in the UK (it really wasn't that bad) we were met at the front door by the warmest reception and smile from Natalie. We were shown our rooms which were spotless and comfortable and then given suggestions on sights within the town which is a short walk away. The Kettle house was definitely a favorite of our two children (ages 6 and 4). Natalie has had experience working with children and she spent a short time with us in their garden allowing our children to pet the two rabbits which are kept near the garden. After a long day of sightseeing we were relieved to have a very comfortable bed and mattress to crash on. The family room was booked and Natalie and Mark offered us a second room as we are a family of 4 at no extra charge. We declined the generous offer as the room initially provided was big enough for what we needed. Last thing to mention is the breakfast which was excellent. Go for the full Scottish and try the Haggis, seriously. It has a bad reputation but I don't understand why as I think it tastes excellent. Don't let my love of Haggis tarnish my credibility... You will enjoy your stay at the Kettle House B and B and I recommend it without reservations.

Hi Vince and Kristy & the wee ones what a truly lovely review you have given us. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and yes its always difficult driving in a different country but I'm sure you did well. When its a family like yourselves with very small children we can sometimes offer another room for the same price as what you are paying for the triple room as we move you into two rooms that are next door to each other giving you more space but we can only do that if our B&B is empty like it was the night you all stayed and out of season but thank you much for saying how generous we are that is very kind. Also so glad you liked your breakfast. We loved having you all and we hope you all decide to visit us again soon, Many thanks Natalie & Mark

Recently stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday with a group of friends. We arrived late afternoon and were warmly received my Natalie and Mark along with Holly the gorgeous doggy. Our rooms were excellent. As there were five in our group we saw inside three of the rooms. They were all of good size and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the cupcakes which were with the tea tray! Delicious and a lovely touch. The towels provided were lovely and fluffy. Breakfast was ordered the evening before, there was a great selection and it was truly scrumptious. The garden is large and we enjoyed a few hours sitting in the new summerhouse enjoying the views. All in all this was great accommodation and the hosts were excellent. Highly recommended. We are already planning our next stay. Great value for money too.

Many thanks once again we really appreciate it. Natalie & Mark

We were welcomed by Natalie and the children were immediately introduced to the pet rabbits and guinea pigs. Both the rooms we used were of a high standard and the children were delighted with the wide selection of games and dvds. The house was very quiet and we all slept well. Breakfast was lovely.
