I don't think I have ever relaxed as much as I did in this truly wonderful place. we both needed it with the stresses and strains of work. From the moment we arrived the stresses had vanished and the chilling began. It was much bigger than it looked on the pics on line so I was doubly impressed. The apartment or as we called it penthouse was furnished and kitted out to the highest standard. Yes it has 75 steps to climb from bottom to top but well worth it and kept us fit.
The view over the Loch was totally amazing we could have sat looking out all day.
As you can imagine many lovely walks to be had and the guys playing the bagpipes on the way was lovely.
We visited the local pubs, The Bothy which was good but The Lock Inn was our favourite as the food was fabulous, atmosphere great and staff very friendly.

Over the road is a petrol station with a great sized shop for everything you need including a post office. Plus other small shops selling gifts and things.

Would we return, hell yes

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, we are very flattered by your kind words. The apartment is our absolute favourite place anywhere, and it's really special that we can share it with other people who appreciate it so much too! We hope to see you again in the highlands in the years ahead, the magical view from the sofa of the loch will be waiting for you!

Regards, Mark

We've just spent 5 nights at the Boys Dormitory and it wasn't long enough frankly, we really only scratched the surface on places to visit and things to do. We spent 2 days enjoying the wonderful apartment and amazing Abbey and exploring Fort Augustus which is situated right on the banks of Loch Ness. The apartment is beautifully decorated with magnificent views over the mountains and the loch but my favourite half an hour was spent with a cup of tea early in the morning on the bench by the shore! Our favourite restaurant is the Boathouse about 50 yards away, very nice. Would definitely recommend the whole place and can't wait to return one day.

Amazing apartment with incredible views! A stones throw from the local amenities (I can recommend the Lock Inn and Monster Fish and Chips for food) and a few moments away from the edge of the Loch. There are a lot of steps and floors to climb to get up to the apartment, but it's well worth it - that view!! The flat is well equipped and very clean, and is beautifully decorated. The whole Abbey that the flat is part of is also an amazing place to be in. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay here again!

“Beautiful apartment with stunning views”
Reviewed October 29, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

My partner and I stayed in this flat in October 2016 and couldn't recommend it highly enough. We were in the highlands to explore and hunt for views but it was difficult to beat the view from our living room window. The flat is comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated - also well equipped. The owners have paid great attention to detail to make this apartment feel interesting and personal. We hope to return sometime.

“Amazing place to stay”
Reviewed July 16, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A beautiful and well kept property. Highly recommend a stay at the Boys Dormitory, feels like a step back in time, but with a modern twist. If you love the Harry Potter films, you won't be disappointed as has a Hogwarts feel about it. It is a quiet, peaceful location, near Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal with just a small number of lovely shops, pubs and eateries. Not far by car to the Ben Nevis Range, Inverness and the Jacobite Steam Train at Fort William. Loved staying here, and would love to go back. The apartment has everything you would need, great for couples.

“Perfect Romantic Spot”
Reviewed April 24, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Perfect getaway in the converted abbey, overlooking the Loch Ness.

The whole abbey has an amazing history and looks beautiful from the outside, with the exception of a modern wing which feels very misplaced.

The boys dorm is at the top of a large set of stairs so may not be suitable for all - you are rewarded with excellent views on 3 sides.

The apartment is spacious and luxurious -well designed with comfy sofas looking out over the amazing view.

It is well maintained with excellent service given for our late arrival in Friday night.

I would highly recommend this as a romantic escape.

“Stylish Apartment in a Stunning Setting”
Reviewed September 18, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a great holiday apartment. The attention to detail and decoration in the apartment is so classy. Its very well equipped with quality appliances in the kitchen and living area. The location in the Abbey is beautiful and the views from the apartment out of all the windows are stunning. The location is excellent for walks around Loch Ness and the village. Good road links to Inverness and Fort William. From start to finish we had a wonderful stay in this apartment. Perfect for a romantic break. It has a big comfortable bed.
