Arrived on the day of looking for two rooms. They only had one available but contacted another one a few doors down and they had a room too (my brother and mom stayed there). The family room was already taken, so the room was a bit snug after they added the extra mattress to accommodate the kids.

The room and en-suite was very tidy and comfortable, and many extras provided (tea, coffee, as well as some packaged biscuits, bottled water and such). Plenty of parking right in front of the B&B.

Andy and Caroline were very friendly as well, and it was a great stay. We plan on heading back up to Scotland later this year, and plan to stay at the Corrie Liath again! This was the nicest B&B we stayed at our whole trip!

My brother and i were doing the Land's End to John O'Groats bike ride in April 2011 and stayed at the Corrie Liath B & B. Fort Augustus is beautiful and this B & B is a perfect base to explore the area. The rooms are clean and tidy with very comfortable beds. The bathroom, although not en-suite, was for our sole use so it was just as good. The shower was excellent and the owners even washed our wet cycling gear while we went into the village to have some dinner. Breakfast in the morning was great and we would highly recommend this B & B to anyone who is exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

My friend and I were on a road trip through the Highlands and decided to see Loch Ness. We got the number for this place from a 'Place to Stay' book we picked up in Fort William. When we called and asked if there were available rooms Caroline was more than helpful and even made special accommodation for us. When we arrived (4 hrs ahead of schedule) we were greeted by Andy and Caroline and they showed us around the place and made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with more amenities than we actually needed for an overnight stay. Andy even gave us a key for the front door so that we could get in when we came home late from the neighboring pubs. The following morning, breakfast was lovely, you could taste the love in the homecooked food, and the conversation was friendly and genuine.

The great thing about this place is that these kind folks aren't this pleasant because its what we as paying customers expect...it's because this is how they really are and they extend all courtesies to you as a guest!

If I ever return to this part of Scotland I won't even bother to try another B&B, why bother? Everything I could need is at Corrie Liath!

stayed here for one night on a mountain biking trip. We were late arriving so phoned ahead and this was no problem at all. There is a shed for storing bikes in and the twin room was warm and comfortable. The bathroom was across the hallway but this was fine for us. Breakfast was great with cereal and fruit and a choice of hot food. I went for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and there was plenty of toast and homemade jam. I would stay there again.

This was our first stay in a B&B which till now we have always avoided, prefering a hotel.
Our stay at Corrie Liath has changed our minds. The minute we arrived we were made very welcome even being greeted in the car park. Andy & Caroline have just finished refurbishing the rooms and they are incredibly clean and comfortable with some very nice touches you would not normally expect. We loved the fact they provided bottles of water for drinking and a jug to fill the kettle. Not to mention dvd's to watch and books to read. The breakfast was excellent and the service second to none. The rooms were also well heated which is a bonus in the Highlands!. We could not fault anything about our stay .

I was given a very friendly welcome - I booked my room only minutes before from the Tourist Information notice board. Nice double room with excellent en-suite. Good off-road parking for motorcycle and fine breakfast. Andy and Catherine were excellent hosts - I never got round to asking Catherine about the book(s?) she has written. It seems a good half mile stroll on well-lit road into the middle of the town with convenient restaurants [the Bothy was my choice] - just right for walking back after a meal!
