We recently went and visited this state park. A small park but packed with many waterfalls. We took the long way around the park and saw so many beautiful waterfalls and the remains of the old paper mill.

This park is awesome. They have cliffs, waterfalls, river views and Indian Mounds. This was awesome for someone like me who likes to hike and take photos. Two paths run the fort you have a simple easy nice trail that runs up away from most of the sights and then you have the harder trails that show you most everything. I do feel you probably have to have good joints in some case to scale down to get to some of the views which seemed to the be the general thought. Since I saw a lot of people climbing back up But the park is great well taken care and clean

This is a nice, short hike for parents to take young kids on...it is only a mile in length but has many natural attention-getters: cliffs, waterfall, abandoned grist mill, river view, the Indian mound backstory, and a lot of sticks to sword fight with. The nature center has that glossy topographic sculpture of the park that kids like to crawl on, but not much else. I would not consider this a destination park worth driving more than, say 30 miles due to its small size. But it is very pretty...good picnic places, and well worth introducing children to nature to get them away from the sirens of electronica. But for adult outdoors activities I recommend South Cumberland.

Old Stone Forte State park was beautiful during the fall. There were very few people there, the trails were kept clean and the waterfalls are absoulutely worth the trip ( in my opinion as a photographer). Facilites appeared to be kept up well. Way to go Tennessee. Nice park. I would return.

its is a peaceful place. i go there several times a year to walk the trail and to enjoy the nature. it has a few trails to choose from , my favorite is walking below the trail close to the water. the old paper mill is interesting also. you can walk, jog, fish and some local teens swim there is also a campsite plus a museum which is free and you can watch a video while you are there.
