“Swimming Holes and Open Fields”

How do you describe OSFAP? They say it’s the site of an ancient Native American…..something…. don’t worry the visitor’s center has all the information to get you up to speed. If you are looking for a series of swimming holes that you would only see in National Geographic Traveler, you won’t be disappointed as long as a drought isn’t going on. There is also a big field, that is excellent for flag football or ultimate Frisbee. So if you’re going to Bonnaroo, swing by….

“OK so its not a fort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2007

Instead of a fort its a mound usued for ceremonial purposes and gatherings. The museum is small but informative and FREE!!!

The Hike around the mound was the major attraction, in just about a hour and a half hike, mostly flat, youll see several waterfalls, lots of bluffs(mostly from above) the remnants of the encoslures walls and remnants of an old mill. Its very beutiful and I would come here for an easy hike anytime!

“Ancient Indian Ceremonial Grounds”

Stopped at the Old Stone Fort in TN on the way back from a GA vacation. Practically the only tourists there in late August. Beautifully kept, leisurely walk. great information at Park Office. A must for anyone interested in Indian history. Great waterfall access and photo opportunity. Trails provide gentle walking or cliffside/ravine view - watch kids and husbands closely as some alternate trails come very close to sheer dropoffs.
