Drumnadrochit Hotel
Ranked #3 of 3 Hotels in Drumnadrochit

We had a really enjoyable stay at the Drumnadrochit Hotel. As the pictures show, it's not the fanciest of hotels - the accommodation was basic but it was spotlessly clean and warm.

What set this hotel apart from others on our holiday was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out their way to make sure we had everything we needed during our meal (monster-sized meringues come highly reccommended!) and also when we asked about things to do in the local area. The hotel manager, I think his name was Sean (?) and an Irish lassie were particularly friendly, and really good fun!

The hotel is right next door to the Nessie exhibition and shops which was handy, with the Urquart Castle not far. Free wifi throughout was also a bonus.

Room Tip: We had a room with an extra big bath which was great after a day out walking

Hygiene standard very poor. My bed sheets were not changed, I could see other people's hairs in the bed and shocking enough in the the mugs provided. Every single plate or cup were not washed properly. Other than that the hotel was adequate for a one night stay, when no other option are available. Service was fine and area pleasant.

Highly over rated hotel and very much over priced. It is one among the very few options in Drumnadrochit village. Most of the bed and breakfast are not listed in the booking websites. So, it is difficult to find much option in that area.

The hotel is using very old furnitures, highly over priced and awful food. I will not go back again. This is the worst food I had during my 6 days scotland visit. Breakfast was also not nice. The morning stuff (one lady) who was serving breakfast was rude. She was kind of throwing the plates into your table, they don't even know the manner to put the plate properly infront of the customer.

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Rather try to find some B&B in this area which will offer a much better value for money.

Room Tip: high priced, over rated, worst food

This place is really good value and a great location near Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. The rooms are basic but very comfy and quiet. Got a really good nights sleep. Dinner and breakfast were superb and you can get free WiFi in most area which is handy. The staff are very friendly and all work very hard - bless em! Good place for families and the Loch Ness exhibition is next door which is surprisingly good quality!

Last minute booking for a 2 night stay. As expected, where it is situated, this is a very tourist- orientated hotel. We stayed in the main building. Room had no view. Staff were the best part. They were very attentive and helpful, especially the waiter in the dining room. Hotel itself, though clean, is very basic and lacking in maintenance. We reported four lightbulbs in our bedroom that weren't working and by the time we left they still hadn't been replaced. The shower headrail was loose and will probably fall off very shortly. Would not go back again.

Drumnadrochit Hotel was not as great an experience after our B&B stay at Kyleakin … but it works. The rooms are stark, no nonsense, wooden logs next to the Loch Ness Tourist Centre and a great place to stay. The restaurant is great – excellent food, though with a little impersonal service. The breakfast is also excellent, though it talks a long time to get there. A good variety … served hot & steaming. The place is 5 mins walk away from Fiddler’s Pub, the only happening pub where reservation is a must. Right in front is the quay for the boat ride on Loch Ness, to Urquhart castle.

The room is fairly large, with single beds, bunk bed for kids … our 5 yr old was happy, not us. A nice big bath, with coffee machine and hair dryer in room. No architecture or décor to talk about or even mention … the picture will show why. Decent stay option is you are there … no idea of the cost as this was booked by our tour operator. The place lacks warmth and staff behavior impersonal… something that the owners can work towards.

My daughter and I stayed here for 1 night, the room was very nice although the bathroom needed up-dating. The staff were great especially Sean, brilliant customer service skills and a very lovely, friendly guy. The food was yummy, with an all you can eat breakfast. Would definitely stay there again if we were in town :)
