“Not what we expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

We stayed there on our honeymoon for a couple of nights. We were first allocated a room that had a window overlooking the loading site. We asked a room change especially given that we were on our honeymoon we would have liked a bit of a nicer room. We were allocated a room in the bungalows. I must say, they have character and really pleasant to stay in. Breakfast service was not that excellent especially seeing some of the staff helping themselves to drinks with the guests. I saw that this was a bit unprofessional. One drawback about the location is that only a couple of restaurants are in the area. One would have to drive up to Inverness for a nice dinner. Overall I think that the price paid was a bit on the high side.

Thank you for your review , The Drumnadrochit Hotel opens again on the 15th February
After being closed for 4 months for refurbishment . We were all invited to a tasting tonight to try the new menu , absolutely brilliant , haggis balls, goat cheese , rack of lamb , highland chicken , to name a few. Mike and David (the chefs ) excelled.
Walking round the hotel it looks amazing , restaurant total refurbishment with great views over the village. The pub on the first floor lovely place to relax before and after your meal !!
The whole team headed up by Sean and Ali, are looking forward to welcoming old and new customers to the Drum.

The Hotel is part of the 5 star visitor attraction the loch ness exhibition , there is exciting new development at the exhibition a new attraction , if you have visited before well worth a revisit !!

If you are booking the hotel always worth phoning the hotel direct as you could get a better deal , than Internet prices , phone , Chloe , Sean or Ali on 01456450218.

Again thank you for the review we all look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel

Stopped off here for a break on the way to Inverness. While the views are pleasant (assuming the hedges have been cut) there is no view of Loch Ness.

Food and drink is standard fare at typical prices: sandwiches, painis, jacket potatoes etc ranging from £4.95 to £5.95.

Service was with a smile and would happily comeback to break up the A82 journey from Glasgow to Inverness.

We at the Drumnadrochit Hotel thank you for your kind comments . Next time please come and stay with us we are 1/2 way through our refurbishment programe and will complete by the start of the 2013 season .

Sean our manager /director heads up a real happy and dedicated hotel team , we only took over the hotel in April but have seen steady growth in sales and repeat business which shows we are on the right track.

The Drumnadrochit Hotel is part of the 5 star loch ness exhibition , which is also a must do ! if back in the area.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights in a lodge, it was spacious, clean and warm.
We had a meal on the first night of our stay in the hotel which was top class, I had the steak which was cooked perfect and partner the curry 10/10, service was warm and welcoming, location was central, the views were outstanding, hotel located right beside the loch ness. We travelled to the castle and waterfalls (a must see) Breakfast was self service, so it was nice to choose what you wanted and if you wanted more just help yourself , porridge- cooked to order which was tasty. Free wifi which was also a plus. Staff were great and always greeted us with a pleasant smile, will recommend to friends and family.

Thank you for your kind comments on our hotel , and appreciate you taking time to review our hotel.

We are proud of the service provided , staff are encouraged to take time to communicate with each every guest, most of our staff are from the area who can advise on their local knowledge .

The lodge you stayed in is one of 9 , each lodge can sleep up to 4 persons . Ideal for families , your car can be parked at your own front door ! plus its a save environment for children as the lodges are well away from main road.

Don't know if you visited the loch ness exhibition part of the hotel complex , but it's well worth a visit . We have been told there is going to be an added attraction to the existing exhibition this comming year. Don't tell any one !! Look forward to welcoming you back .

A nice hotel and restaurant/bar with some of the best young staff we have encountered in the UK.
The rooms are 70's style and are in need of a makeover. However they were very clean.
Our mattress has definitly seen better days. You could feel individual springs whilst laying on it.
The food in the restaurant and bistro for breakfast was of good quality and price.
As the title suggests, the whole complex is in urgent need of a good renovation.
Also the TV's are micro sized CRT display, very hard to see from anywhere in the room. Also only 2 real channels available. Satellite TV would be good.
Right next door to the Loch Ness Exhibition.
After I adjusted the WiFi antenna in the hall we had coverage in our room in the back of the main building.
WiFi is FREE!
Would I stay here again? Not until it has a makeover.

Room Tip: Top floor in the main building.

My wife and I visited the Loch Ness bistro for the first time for our evening meal during a short stay at Drumadrochit and thoroughly enjoyed our whole experience whilst there. The staff were very friendly and the food we ordered was the most enjoyable meal during our stay.

We would highly recommend the venison casserole and haddock fishcakes whilst these are still on the menu.

Great little hotel. Centrally located if you are looking for nessie. Staff were friendly, and helpful as we had a late arrival. Room was basic but clean, bed was comfortable, buffet breakfast was nice too. Hotel is right next door to the Lochness Exhibition centre.
