My boyfriend and I spent one night at Kilmichael House (as part of a tour through the Scottish Highlands). Charlotte was a most welcoming hostess, giving us a spot-on recommendation on where to have dinner (and making the reservation for us too). The house is lovely and very clean, and our room was huge and well-equipped. (I especially appreciated the electric hot water dispenser, instant coffee, and biscuits.) The en-suite bathroom was new and had a good shower. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. If you're in the Loch Ness area, I would definitely recommend Kilmichael House.

We stayed at Kilmichael House in Drumnadrochit for 2 nights and it was perfect. Ideal location - just 5 minutes walk from the village.

Charlotte was a very welcoming and a helpful hostess. We arrived early and she showed us to our room as we had been travelling all morning. She gave us excellent advice on where to visit and where to eat during our stay and she booked a table for us at a restaurant overlooking Loch Ness.

The room was very spacious and comfortable and it was so peaceful. Never had such a good nights sleep!

Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Cereals, toast, jams, fresh fruit and a full cooked breakfast with black pudding, tattie scones and we tried haggis for the first time. Gorgeous.

If you are heading up North near Loch Ness, I would highly recommend you stay here. It was just perfect.

My boyfriend Mattias and I were doing the Great Glen Way back in March and had been camping in temperatures of -6 degrees, through hail, wind, snow and rain. With sore knees, feet and ankles from 4 days of hiking with camping gear, we were a sorry sight when we finally reached the Loch Ness Inn opposite where Charlotte had lived previously.

Having contacted Charlotte earlier in the day and had the good fortune to book a spare room, we still panicked a bit towards the end when we realised our painfully slow descent into Drumnadrochit was way later than predicted. When we finally got into the Loch Ness Inn, we were able to use their phone (no mobile reception) to contact Charlotte who jovially picked us up after a much appreciated pint. We really couldn't quite express how grateful we were to get the lift that final mile, and were so well treated - enjoying home cooked macaroni with wine no less! - a great cooked breakfast the next morning, and a lift back to the Loch Ness Inn so that we could continue the Great Glen Way without cheating that extra mile :) We were also able to leave our camping and excess gear at Charlotte's for the last stretch to Inverness, picking it up in the rentacar on the way back down to Fort William.
Thanks Charlotte and your wonderful B&B, you're a legend!! (Also look out for the amazing massive red wood pines (you can't miss them :) and the gorgeous highland cows and calf in the field next door, not to mention Charlotte's lovely wee dog!)

On driving up to the house on a very cold April evening, it looked quite austere with no lights showing at the windows, snow starting to fall outside, and we thought no-one was at home. However from the moment Charlotte opened the door and welcomed us in, it took on a different personality. The welcome was very warm, Charlotte makes sure you feel at home. This house is beautiful - one of the loveliest houses I've stayed in - beige carpets, white walls, very clean, immaculately decorated. Our bedroom was HUGE, with a super king bed, seating area with TV, sofa and coffee table, en suite bath and shower, and two big windows overlooking the extensive gardens complete with massive redwood trees and highland (big horns!) cattle in the adjoining field. We hadn't eaten since breakfast as we'd travelled from Fort William with lots of detours en route! Charlotte recommended the Fiddlers Restaurant in Drumnadrochit for our evening meal and we weren't disappointed. The meal was lovely. Charlotte's breakfast was very tasty and filling. The only hiccup is that there was only one large dining table for everyone to sit around, and I must admit I'm not one for making conversation with strangers at breakfast time - I like my own space. However, to sum up - Kilmichael House is a superb place, very highly recommended, and I would absolutely love to go back there.
