Was looking for a quick lunch on a long drive from Thurso down to Glasgow and decided to try here. So glad we did as it is a little gem! Freshly decorated based on the poppy theme whick flows through to even the crockery and colour of napkins. A lovely warm welcome from the chef and his dad who took us through all the specials of the day. A great selection to choose from on the menu with ingredients sourced locally as well. Prices are good for this standard of coffee shop especially with the portion sizes! We went for a burger (from the local butcher) and a toasted sandwich. Both made fresh from scratch and presented beautifully with a fresh side salad and crisps. Will definitely be stopping here again.

Having trekked for 10 miles, the only thing I wanted was a cup of tea. This place is ideal. A huge mug of tea at a reasonable price and a scone too. Very friendly waitress, good service, amicable chat. Super.

Just had a lovely lunch in Poppys. I had soup which was delicious and my husband had a burger which was freshly prepared and was also excellent. This is the 3rd or 4th time weve been and will be back.

What would possess anybody to eat twice in this dreary dump?
Located on the high street, we thought we would give it a try.
We were served several long minutes after arrival, when the lone grumpy teenage waitress decided to leave her laptop. There was little on the limited menu to tempt us, so we bought some cakes for the kids; stale would be polite. Worse, one of the children was drawn to a pile of Christian literature, there being no other artistic distractions on the bare walls. We paid, left the cakes half-eaten, and left.
Oranges are not the only fruit.
