It's a very large open mouthed cave - one of the biggest of its type in the UK, apparently. There are normally tours further inside but it was too wet when we were there.

The history and the waterfall itself are incredibly impressive. There's more to explore than one expects.

A totally unexpected experience! We didn't know it was there! The caves are amazing and the waterfall has to be seen (and the noise)!

my husband and i popped in here on our honeymoon on the way to sango Sands. As it had been raining for the previous couple of days, the boat trip was not opn as the water level was too high in the inner cave. However, the main cave itself is really impressive and atmopspheric. The waterfall inside the cave was lovely. The north coast of Scotland is all so beautiful.

Myself and my son took a beautiful Autumn trip with David Urquhart Tours along Scotlands wild Noild moorlandrthern Coastline from John o Groats to Durness through wild moorland and breathtaking mountain scenery.
Worth a visit is Smoo Cave with its atmospheric lighting and stunning underground waterfall.
Also worth a look is Scotlands most northerly point Dunnet Head where a variety of sea birds can be seen in their natural habitat.
A must see for lovers of natural beauty.
