The Glynhill Hotel & Leisure Club

We stayed here for 2 nights in concert with an international meeting. We were given a room on the top floor of the hotel. The room was configured like a loft. It was very hot in the room and the windows only opened to full, which isn't great when it is pelting down with rain and the sill is covered in water. The hallway area was extremely warm, to the point of being uncomfortable.

The room was in need of a complete repainting. The tiles in the bathroom had no grout between them and in serious need of regrouting. There were several lights out in the bathroom and sleeping area. The carpet needs replacement and is past any routine vacuuming efforts. The sink area was in need of a thorough cleaning and sanitizing.

When we checked-in, we were given our room and went directly to the room only to find the dirty bedding, glasses, etc. still there and the room not made up. A nice welcome to the hotel. When we went downstaris to advise that the room was not ready, we were offered no explanation, no room change nor time when the room would be made up, which was some 2 hours later.

Much of the hotel common areas have been upgraded with new carpets, however most travlers are not sleeping on the carpets and money would be better spent on refeshing the rooms. We has some 26 people at our meeting plus a number of spouses and as a group, we were overwhelmimgly disaapointed!!

We did not use the pool, however did here some complaints about it. The food was fine and the breakfast buffet was ample, but is overshadowed by the shortcoming of the rest of the hotel. We were directly over the area where the 'tribute night' was held and the music was just a tad too loud well into the evening.

Perhaps a change in management or new glasses are required to realize that improvements are desperately needed

Room Tip: Not for the 'value' seeking traveller!

Stayed here with all the family to celebrate patents ruby wedding anniversary.
Was great! Rooms very modern, clean, spacious!
Tribute night (micheal buble) was great, set menu meal was very good! Drinks were the usual hotel prices, bit more expensive than a pub etc!
Breakfast was amazing! HUGE choice and everything so fresh! Best hotel breakfast ever had.
Pool area was clean & nice.

Would return & recommend!

Stayed 2 nights in May. The hotel was not so bad but not excellent. The evening meal was tasty but dirty tables and two a4 printed sheets of menu in a 4* hotel restaurant - unacceptable. On the morning the breakfast was served in another room much better and cleaner than the evening meal. It was very good and tasty. 5* for that. The room was fine but could use a little repair here and there anyway all together was well and I can recommend.

Room Tip: would recommend

Went to a Midnight Blue tribute night as part of a relatives 50th birthday celebrations. Food was ok, soup starter then generic chicken in a sauce with veg, but pudding was a fantastic cheesecake. Bar area, dining room etc all nice, but rooms were a bit tired in the part of the hotel we were in and the signage is terrible, got lost a couple of times!!!!

Stayed here on the 11th May with a group of friends from around Europe. Was only a £6 taxi fair from the airport and the hotel was clean. Staff were friendly in all parts of the hotel. Since our main reason for being there was to have a few beers we spent a lot of time in Harry's which is a bar open to the locals as well as residents.

Breakfast was self service was a wide range of things including a lot of Sottish dishes. Would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a hotel near the airport to either use as a base for site seeing or just for a short break. Didn't go to the pool but heard good things from those that did.

Room Tip: Harry's Bar good for sport and that "local" feeling.

We were recommended to this hotel by Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, as a place for my husband to stay while I was in a local hospital. I stayed there for 1 night and he was there for 5. Because of our particular circumstances, he was unable to use any of the facilities of the hotel, other than the bar for meals. The food in the bar was good and reasonably priced but my kettle chips were more like Tesco's own and all crushed up. To be fair, the barman offered to give me a packet from behind the bar but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Breakfast was a bit disappointing: the fruit was all tinned, bacon and fried eggs were only available intermittently and the coffee tasted like Nescafé. However, there was plenty to choose from. The staff in this hotel are efficient, charming and extremely helpful and the room was clean and pleasant - if a bit too hot. We felt that, for someone in our circumstances, that the accommodation was a little overpriced and would advise anyone thinking of using it in relation to a hospital stay to look for somewhere else. For anyone able to use all the facilities, or wanting a short break, it could be good value.

Room Tip: Don't get one near the kitchen. Ours was hot, even with the windows wide open, and it was very...
