“night out at normandy hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

Hi we went to the Normandy hotel ABBA tribute night a party of 13 of us. The act and the disco were great. The meal was terrible. There is no choice just chicken for the main meal The chicken was like rubber and the sauce was watery. The drinks were quite expensive and the bucket was abit of a con £20.for 6 bottles When you could buy single bottles for £2.75.

Room Tip: We did not stay.

We were heading abroad for one week in April and looked for secure car parking with a view to driving down early morning for our flight. 7 days parking at various secure car parks were priced around £50-£60 however a deal came up via Holiday Extras for accommodation the night before with up to 14 nights parking for £54. After confirming the car park was secure we figured we could not go wrong and took a chance on this.

Definitely value for money. The car park is indeed secure and we had no issues with the drop off and collection. The hotel also organise a free shuttle to and from the airport - you specify the time you want for your trip to the airport and then call a mobile number on your return for transport back to the hotel. This was all extremely efficient and we were not kept waiting on our return leg.

We had to ask the hotel to print off a couple of documents as we had forgotten to do so before we left. The reception obliged and were polite and accomodating about it.

We were flying too early to eat breakfast and due to being with family during the day did not visit the bar or restaurant within the hotel so cannot comment.

If I had one criticism it would be that the rooms are on the small side. We were climbing over our suitcases at times. However they were clean, quiet and had basic facilities.

You can ultimately tell this is a budget hotel and predominately used for those travelling to and from the airport. If this had been a weekend away I would have probably been a bit disappointed. However for one weeks parking and a night accommodation this is ideal and you cannot argue with the price.

Stayed at this hotel for one night with one weeks parking. The hotel and especially the rooms have been done up and had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was very good with an extensive choice. The car parking arrangements is now much better with a park and fly desk at the entrance. The car park at the rear is now a secure compound. Short journey to and from hotel in hotel's mini bus was first class and car was parked at front of hotel on our return. One thing I would add to this experience is 2 or 3 parking bays at front of hotel for park and fly customers booking in. I blocked a limos egress as there was limited parking.
Have already booked this hotel for a holiday later in the year. Keep up the good work Normandy.

Room Tip: Had a room overlooking airport and was good to look out and see the planes landing.

I stayed overnight on April 19th before an early morning flight. Had meal there and found the food and service was excellent. Transfers were spot on both ways and car was wIting when I came home. All in all a positive experience and will definitely use this hotel for future early flights.

We stayed on Saturday night for the 80s rubic cube night. we had a lovely diner and our room was beautiful and clean. The only down side was the Rose wine at £13 a bottle which I don't mind paying if it's a good wine but it was like paint stripper. I am coming back to stay for the Elvis night in June could you have some nice fruity wine pleeeeeze !

The food here is excellent, the free transfer to and from the hotel very quick and door to door, and our car was waiting for us when we got back (albeit COVERED in pigeon crap).

However, I've had to mark this review as a 2 star stay due to the bed - it rrally is bad enough to bring it down that far, by itself. It had springs raised a good inch off the mattress itself, running the full length of the bed in 2 areas (this being room 123). I do not see how anyone could deem this good enough for sleeping in / renting out.

Did not complain at the time as my significant other didn't want me to make a fuss.
