We only went for the day for the folk festival but since the festival has been running yearly for more than 2 decades plus you'd think they'd have learned by now hiw to cope with fluctuating numbers.
The food was average and did not come with all the bits stated in the menu I am still waiting for the horseradish sauce to go with my roast beef.It was not all that hot either being more look ward and served with very undercooked veg and non crispy roast spuds (probably because they were underneath the meat and sacue) all in all I give the 1 for the food and -6 for service.
There are 3 bars in the place did they keep them open no they shut the one in the basment then had 4 folk in the restaurant bar only one of whom was actually serving drinks but they couldn't ring up the drinks because someone else was tatting up meal tickets.
The public bar was manned but was still like watcihing paint dry to get served.
Since the session was in the function suite thr ough 4 doors it meant 2 plus trips depending on how many drinks were in the round you bought.
Really rather glad we were not staying 'cause whit the breakfast shambles have been like?
