“A fine dinner”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Whilst not pretending to be a top notch dining experience the dinner here was acceptable. Friendly staff, good cuisine served efficiently. The bar area had much character and all in all one could do much worse than fine here.

Wife and I had meal at this establishment on the evening of Saturday 10th May. I have to say we were both very disappointed with the entire evening. We ate in a part of the hotel called the bistro. Frankly this is no better than many cafe's with plain wooden tables and little or no ambience. We were seated within three feet of the bar where people were buying drinks etc. Not comfortable! As for the food, the starter we had was good and the fish main my wife had was also quite good. I opted for the "pan fried venison" this was so tough I could not even get my knife through it . Sent it back and received from the waitress the apologies of the chef. Re-ordered and opted for the "Medalion of beef" again the meat was tough and I left most of it on the plate. Coffee most unpalatable . The service was quite appalling with up to twenty minute waits between courses and the waitresses certainly require some training in their approach. All in all a great disappointment.

very dissapointed - we had a " superior room " only thing superior was the size. place was clean but they are loosing custom because of the service in the restaurant - it is not the waitress's fault they have obviously not been trained and they had no idea - we asked for a bottle of wine it was just plonked on the table top still on - i got my main meal 5 minutes before my husband got his - we asked for a cheeseboard it took 35 minutes before we got it - each time a table became empty the tablecloth was changed which was fine but then they were piled up behind our table ? we should have complained but as another table were complaining we thought better of it and as i said before it is not the waitress's fault they were doing their best but somebody needs to oversee the training.

Room Tip: quiet location

Once U start doing Trip Advisor reviews..seems to be the norm to do a review on each outing!! :)
Been to the Bein Inn along time ago and have heard good reports on new management in 2014 and also..good old .Itison popped up on inbox and clicked for a lunch for 2! :)
Mrs Mac and self went Monday 05/05/14 and ENJOYED!
As went through main door, greeted with friendly smiles and a host of staff!..taken to our table by a lovely young lady called Jordan [thanks] and drinks ordered and food served all within good times and fresh produce.
Really enjoyed the portions and quality and had a wee chat with the new management Teresa and wish them a great venture success into the hospitality sector.
Even without the Itison deal...lunch can be from only £9 for 2 courses.
TRY IT! :)

Had a lovely lunch at the bein inn recently. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. We had an it is on voucher so was even cheaper. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Very nice.

Visited at 1pm for Sunday lunch using an Itison voucher - £9 for a two course meal for two. Didn't know what to expect as many years since I had been here before. Was not disappointed. Great service, wonderful food. Friendly staff & nice surroundings. Really could not fault it. Would definitely pay full price of £9.95 per person for two courses or £12.95 for 3. Intend to return.

First of all excellent food, one of the best meals we have had in a long time... Well done kitchen....!

However your front of house let you down, service was slow, one waitress on between the bar and the restaurant (and that was on a Sunday at 5pm) not great as it was very busy ...! Waitress seemed stressed and not very happy and the lady behind the bar just seemed lost....!

We bit more staff to help out would make this an excellent place to visit and would also possibly make your staff happier ...!
